The present study on out planting performance of Ocimum basilicum in field plantation was undertaken to optimize the spacing required for achieving maximum yield and essential oil. Seeds collected locally were sown in a broadcast manner and transplanted later at seedling stage at different spacing viz., S1 (10 cm × 10 cm), S2 (10 cm × 20 cm), S3 (10 cm × 30 cm) and S4 (10 cm × 40 cm). Seeds were sown in well prepared nursery beds in March, 2018.

Microclimate of green houses is important for better plant growth and greater yield. The dynamic behavior of the greenhouse microclimate is a combination of physical processes involving energy transfer and mass balance. The greenhouse microclimate can be manipulated by control actions, such as heating, ventilation, carbon dioxide enrichment to provide appropriate environmental conditions for crops. These modifications imply the additional use of energy in the production process.

Deproteinated cheese whey was used for biomass production of probiotic strain Lactobacillus helveticus MTCC 5463 in a biofermenter. Optimization of growth parameters such as temperature, pH and time of incubation as well as nutrient supplementation of cheese whey was carried out using response surface methodology (RSM). Cheese whey supplemented with 0.95% yeast extract and 0.95% proteose peptone, inoculated with 6% (v/v) active culture of L. helveticus MTCC 5463 and fermented for 24 h at optimized temperature of 40ºC and pH 6.25 yielded 3.25 g/L dry cell biomass and 14.

Various microalgae species have high amount of protein and lipid level that is why this is now a days consider as one of the main reasons of an unconventional source of this compound. Spirulina platensis is one of the richest protein sources of microbial origin, having similar protein levels when compared to pulse and animal protein sources. The use of Spirulina platensis in food can bring benefits to human health owing to its chemical composition, as it has high levels of vitamins, minerals, secondary metabolites, essential fatty acids, amino acids and pigments.

The cover cropping in orchards is an advantageous method of weeding which suppresses the weed growth as well as adds additional income. The side-shift offset rotavator was used to prepare a weed free seed bed in orchard field. Certain machine and soil parameter which governs the quality of a seedbed were selected as independent factors, it included: type of cutting blade; kinematic parameter and soil moisture content.

Recently terrestrial digital broadcasting systems have experienced a growth with the demand of high-data rate. In order to meet such demand, the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology has received wide attention. This paper proposes a pre-coding method, which provides high-space channel correlation for the improved performance over terrestrial broadcasting channels when the MIMO spatial multiplexing (SM) is adopted for digital video broadcasting-next generation handheld systems.

Lipases are enzymes that catalyze the transformation reactions of triglycerides in to fatty acids and glycerol. They can be produced by animals, plants and microorganisms. This article presents the isolation of lipase-producing bacteria from soil samples collected from sites contaminated with waste from palm oil production in the littoral region of Cameroon. These permit to isolate a multitude of bacteria capable of producing lipase from Rhodamine B-agar olive oil culture medium.

The present study was carried out to understand the dietary ginger, garlic and fenugreek on growth performance on Litopenaeus vannamei L. Vannamei was fed with three different herbal powder of ginger, garlic and fenugreek of varying levels of 1%, 2.5%, 5%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 0.5%, 1% and 1.5% of concentrations respectively to assess the optimal growth promoting potential. The feeding trial was continued for 63 days with triplicates in each treatment. The growth parameters (ABW, weight gain, SGR), feed efficiency parameters (FCR) and survival rate were significantly (P ginger > fenugreek > control.

Optimizing yield and nutrients content in crop production is the high time demand of arable farming. Vermicompost furnishes one of the most promising alternatives to costly chemical fertilizer. Therefore, a greenhouse experiment was conducted at NARC, Islamabad, to investigate the effect of different levels of vermicompost [having C/N=15/1 and 14 Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacter ia (PGPR)] on growth, yield and nutrients content in hybrid tomato (National Tunnel To-mato-04-08) under greenhouse conditions during Rabi 2015. The data revealed that different rates (0.5 t∙ha-1, 1 t∙ha-1, 1.

Energy storage systems (ESSs) have experienced a very rapid growth in recent years and are expected to be a promising tool in order to improving power system reliability and being economically efficient. The ESSs possess many potential benefits in various areas in the electric power systems. One of the main benefits of an ESS, especially a bulk unit, relies on smoothing the load pattern by decreasing on-peak and increasing off-peak loads, known as load leveling. These devices require new methods and tools in order to model and optimize their effects in the power system studies.

Plants are continuously affected by a variety of environmental factors. Whereas biotic environmental factors are other organisms such as symbionts, parasites, pathogens, herbivores, and competitors, abiotic factors include parameters and resources which determine plant growth like temperature, relative humidity, light, availability of water, mineral nutrients, and CO 2 , as well as wind, ionizing radiation, or pollutants (Schulze et al. 2002 ) . The effect each abiotic factor has on the plant depends on its quantity or intensity.
