This study delved into the impact of debt to equity ratio on return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE). The research data was collected from the financial statements of 73 construction companies listed on the Vietnam’s stock market during the period from 2008 to 2015. The research results showed that in listed construction companies, the debt to equity ratio negatively affects return on assets and return on equity. In addition, firm size, revenue growth rate and asset turnover ratio have negative impacts on ROA and ROE, while firm age has positive impact on both ROA and ROE.

The tax and program changes behind the Budget Resolution produce much stronger economic performance when compared to the rate and level of economic activity in the baseline. 6 Lower taxes stimulate greater investment, which expands the size of business activity. This expansion fuels a demand for more labor, which enters a labor market that contains workers who themselves face lower taxes. Consequently, significantly higher employment ensues. Gains in employment along with lower taxes lead to higher household incomes.

Just under a third (31%) of overall activity in this sector is in manufacturing, with the highest levels of manufacturing in the Wind and Carbon Capture & Storage sectors ‐ the latter a reflection of the current drive to prove the technology through pilot projects. Given the size of the LCEGS sector and its growth rate in both domestic and global markets, environmental activities offer an attractive opportunity for the UK’s manufacturing base to exploit current and emerging technologies.

Typically, the response rate in a direct marketing campaign is low. It is not unusual to see a response rate of less than 5%. As a result, the size of the “responder” class tends to be much smaller than the size of the “non-responder” class. Such situation where the class distribution is significantly skewed toward one of the classes is commonly known as the class imbalance problem [Jap00]. The more interesting class is usually the smaller class.

The Indian financial system is changing fast, marked by strong economic growth, more robust markets, and considerably greater efficiency. But to add to its world-class equity markets, and growing banking sector, the country needs to improve its bond markets. While the government and corporate bond markets have grown in size, they remain illiquid. The corporate market, in addition, restricts participants and is largely arbitrage-driven. To meet the needs of its firms and investors, the bond market must therefore evolve.

Bonds are considered high yield (or junk) based on the credit ratings they receive from the two major US rating agencies, Moody's and Standard & Poor's. Any bond rated below Baa3 by Moody's or BBB- by S&P is included in the high yield universe. High yield bonds are classified in two ways, as "fallen angels", which are former investment grade bonds that have declined in ratings, and as new issue high yield bonds, which are issued generally by young, growing companies in recapitalizations. The growth of the market has been exceptional.

In recent months, there has been a considerable effort by many political actors to promote fears over the size of public pension shortfalls. While many, if not most, public pensions do face shortfalls, much of the discussion has been misleading about both the origins of the shortfall and its severity. This paper tries to put these issues in a clearer perspective. The first part examines the origins of the shortfall by noting the extent to which pensions have lost value due to the recent economic crisis.

The fact that the shortfall figures have been rising over the past twenty years indicates that the mutual fund industry's market impact problems are becoming increasingly severe. This is not surprising, given the rapid growth in the size of mutual funds and an increase in the rates of their portfolio turnover. In any event, it appears that the combination of reported expenses and market impact costs, on average, now consumes the mutual fund investor's capital at a...
