The study makes use of exploratory and descriptive research design and is based on secondary sources of data collection. The dimensions of sustainable banking have been identified as environmental, social and governance (ESG). The research further highlights that sustainability issues focused by banks primarily involve “environmental” and “social” considerations, however, the “governance” aspect has not yet been considered by many. Moreover, the study reveals that there are no guidelines specified by the Bank of Lao PDR (BOL) for sustainable banking practices in Lao to date.

This work explores the difficulties of solving contemporary environmental problems within existing global institutions. It questions guidelines set out in recent influential policy reports, and suggests new agendas for sustainability, industrial ecology, and institutional reform. Including case studies from the USA, Europe and China, this book investigates a wide range of environmental problems presently confronting experts worldwide.

Polygenic risk scores (PRSs) are a summarization of an individual’s genetic risk for a disease or trait. These scores are being generated in research and commercial settings to study how they may be used to guide healthcare decisions. PRSs should be updated as genetic knowledgebases improve; however, no guidelines exist for their generation or updating.

The aim of this research is to investigate the energy performance and water usage of aquatic centres. The objectives are to: 1. develop a guideline for the definition of aquatic centres in Victoria for the purpose of energy and water benchmarking; 2. benchmark the energy and water consumption of aquatic centres by analysing the data collected from existing facilities in Victoria; 3. To investigate operational and building design features that will improve the energy and water performance of a sample aquatic centre by using building performance simulation.

The aim of the 2018 Intercomparison exercise implemented by the Primary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory (PSDL) of Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) collaborated with IAEA is to assess the capabilities of the dosimetry services in participating member states in Asia and the Pacific region for the personal dose equivalent, Hp(10), in photon (gamma and X-ray) fields, thus supporting them to achieve a more accurate dosimetry service and to provide them with guidelines to improve the performance of the existing dosimetry services.

Using artificial Intelligence (AI) to read mammography images has been shown to predict breast cancer risk with higher accuracy than alternative approaches including polygenic risk scores (PRS), raising the question whether AI-based screening is more cost-effective than screening based on PRS or existing guidelines. This study provides the first evidence to shed light on this important question.

There is a growing concern of the potential injurious role of ventilatory over-distention in patients without lung injury. No formal guidelines exist for intraoperative ventilation settings, but the use of tidal volumes (VT) under 10 mL/kg predicted body weight (PBW) has been recommended in healthy patients. We explored the incidence and risk factors for receiving large tidal volumes (VT > 10 mL/kg PBW).

The impact of atraumatic shoulder instability (ASI) on patients can be extensive, its management complex, with a biopsychosocial approach recommended. Currently how physiotherapists manage ASI is unknown or the extent to which current clinical practice aligns with existing evidence. At the time of this study no national guidelines or consensus to direct practice existed.

Fluoropyrimidine plus platinum chemotherapy remains the standard first line treatment for gastric cancer (GC). Guidelines exist for the clinical interpretation of four DPYD genotypes related to severe fluoropyrimidine toxicity within European populations. However, the frequency of these single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the Latin American population is low (< 0.7%).

There exist few, if any, practical guidelines for predictive and falsifiable multi-omic data integration that systematically integrate existing knowledge. Disease modules are popular concepts for interpreting genomewide studies in medicine but have so far not been systematically evaluated and may lead to corroborating multiomic modules.

Very few data exist on the management of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) in patients admitted to hospitals in the Gulf region. The objectives of this study were to describe treatment patterns for CAP in 38 hospitals in five Gulf countries (United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar) and to compare the findings to the most recent Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) / American Thoracic Society (ATS) guidelines.

Plasma miRNAs have the potential as cancer biomarkers but no consolidated guidelines for data mining in this field are available. The purpose of the study was to apply a supervised data analysis strategy in a context where prior knowledge is available, i.e., that of hemolysis-related miRNAs deregulation, so as to compare our results with existing evidence.

The prognosis for adult patients with Ph(-) B-precursor acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) who are refractory to treatment or experience relapse (R/R), is poor; over 90 % of these patients die from the disease, typically within a few months. While there are some national guidelines published for the treatment of adult patients with ALL, and local working group recommendations do exist, there is very little detail and no preferred treatment regimens for adult patients with R/R Ph(-) B-precursor ALL.

Recommending the optimal treatment for an individual patient requires a well-balanced consideration of various medical, social and ethical factors. The interplay of these factors, interpretation of the patient’s situation and understanding of the existing clinical guidelines can lead to divergent therapy recommendations, depending on the attending physician.

This paper investigates the dynamics of the factors of the Fama & French (1993) model using data from the UK financial market. Since financial markets are exposed to exogenous and endogenous structural changes due to the implementation of new regulative guidelines and/or the fluctuation of investors’ behavior or the unanticipated financial crises, my analysis is based on an econometric methodology that accounts for structural breaks and regimes shifts.
