Gypsum on growth
-
The experiments comprising of 9 treatments, viz. Phosphorus at 40, 50 and 60 kg/ha along with 3 levels of Gypsum at 200, 300 and 400 kg/ha. It was laid out in a Randomized Block Design and replicated thrice. Maximum plant dry weight was recorded with Phosphorus 60 kg/ha along with Gypsum 400 kg/ha. Yield attributes namely more number of pods/plant and kernel yield was recorded with Phosphorus at 60 kg/ha along with Gypsum at 300 kg/ha. Net Returns and Benefit Cost Ratio was also recorded in the aforesaid treatment.

An experiment was carried out at the Instructional farm, College of Agriculture, Bikaner during Kharif 2017-18 on loamy sand soil. The experiment comprising of four sources (Gypsum, ES, SSP + Gypsum and SSP+ES) and four levels of sulphur (30, 45, 60 and 75 kg ha-1 ) along with an absolute control (no sulphur) making 17 treatment combinations. These 17 combinations were replicated three times in factorial randomized block design. Results showed that application of sulphur through SSP + gypsum, significantly increased the dry matter accumulation at 30, 60 DAS and at harvest.

Early Blight of potato is caused by Alternaria solani (Ell. and Mart.) Jones and Grout is one of the most serious diseases of potato. Several management practices have been adopted so far to minimize the disease. But in present investigation based on laboratory and glass house condition revealed that soil application with Farm Yard Manure (FYM) and tuber seed dressing with bio-formulation provided higher germination, excellent growth as well as protection against early blight. The maximum germination percent is 83.33 and minimum germination inhibition percent is 16.

An experiment was conducted during rabi-2010-11, 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 at Faculty of Agriculture and Regional Research Station, wadura Sopore, SKUASTKashmir. The treatment consists two sources of sulphur (Gypsum and elemental sulphur) and four levels of sulphur (0,15,30,45 kg ha-1 ). The experiment was laid in a randomised block design with three replications. It was observed that application of sulphur as gypsum recorded maximum growth, yield and quality parameters besides enhancing quality and storage life of bulbs as compared to elemental sulphur.

A field experiment was conducted at Research Farm, Department of vegetable science, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar during 2015-16 and 2016-17 to find out the effect of high RSC water, FYM and gypsum on growth and seed yield of carrot (Daucus carota L.). The cultivar used for the investigation was Hisar Gairic. The treatments comprising three levels of FYM (0, 10 and 20 t/ha) and gypsum (0, 50 and 100% neutralization of RSC) and its combinations were laid out in a factorial randomized block design with three replications keeping a net plot size of 3.0 × 3.0 m.
