A large number of animal species are susceptible to Leishmania infantum (Kinetoplastida, Trypanosomatidae) in endemic areas, including domestic and wild felids such as tigers (Panthera tigris). Knowledge on the infection of this endangered species is still at its infancy, and therefore this study aims to identify clinical presentation and clinicopathological findings of tigers naturally infected by L. infantum.

Garcinia species are widely used for their slimming effects via increased fat burning and suppression of satiety. However, scientific evidence for the biological effects of Garcinia atroviridis (GA) is lacking. We investigated the phytochemical composition, safety profiles, and antioxidant and antiobesity effects of methanolic extracts of Garcinia atroviridis (MeGa) in obese female rats. Repeated dose toxicity studies were conducted according to the OECD guidelines.

Haematological and biochemical alterations of broiler chicken affected naturally with colibacillosis
The present study was aimed to study the haematological and biochemical alterations of naturally occurring colibacillosis in broiler chickens. The haematological parameters studied were haemoglobin, haematocrit, TEC, MCV, MCH, MCHC, MPV, platelet crit, RDW, thrombocytes, TLC, heterophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils and basophils. All these parameters in chicken affected with colibacillosis were comparable to noninfected chicken and within normal range.

Rohu fishes grown with biofloc for 120 days have been examined for the histopathological changes occurred in the intestine and kidney after infecting with Aeromonas hydrohila with 0.5 ml, 1.0 ml and 1.5 ml where 1.5X105 bacteria per ml. In the present study haematological alterations were documented after Aeromonas hydrophila infected rohu (Labeo rohita) fingerlings, fed with probiotic supplemented diets with rice bran and ground nut oil cake in biofloc with added ammonium chloride to reduce NH3.

The study was undertaken on Cobb-400 strain of broiler birds (n=300) reared on battery cage system with standard protocols to know the comparative efficacy of 4 commonly used coccidiostats through haematological alterations in experimentally E. tenella infected birds. Fifty day-old chicks each of T1, T2, T3 and T4 group were given coccidiostat Diclazuril (0.1%), Salinomycin (12%), Diclazuril + Salinomycin and Maduramicin (1 %) at a dose rate of 100, 50, 100+50 and 50 g/100 kg feed, respectively. Group T5 was kept as infected control and T6 as uninfected control without coccidiostat.

Haematological alterations induced by cadmium (Cd) and chlorpyrifos (CPF) in male wistar albino rats
The present study was aimed to know the haematological alteration due to individual toxicities of cadmium, chlorpyrifos and their combination in albino wistar rats. The experiment was carried out for 28 days. Group 1 - Control. Group 2 - Cadmium chloride (Cd) @ 22.5mg/ kg b.wt /per oral / day. Group 3 - Chlorpyrifos (CPF) @ 25 mg/ kg b.wt /per oral / day. Group 4 - Cadmium chloride (Cd) @22.5 mg + Chlorpyrifos (CPF) @ 25 mg/ kg b.wt /per oral / day. The weekly body weight gains were significantly (P < 0.05) decreased in groups 4, 3 and 2 when compare with control group.

Among all the gastrointestinal nematodes belonging to family Trichostrongylidae, Haemonchus contortus is the most prevalent and highly pathogenic nematode causing severe loss to small ruminant production system. Parasite causes alterations in various physiological parameters with disturbances in haemato-biochemical blood profile. Experiment was conducted in eighteen (n=18) non-descript sheep that were randomly divided into two groups, infected (Group-A) and (Group-B) the negative control. Group- A animals were infected with 10,000 L3 of H.contortus.

The present study was planned to investigate haemato-biochemical alterations in buffaloes affected with gastrointestinal tract atony. The study was carried out in 50 clinical cases of non-traumatic, primary gastrointestinal tract atony in buffaloes. Eight apparently healthy buffaloes were included in the study which constituted the control group. Haematological alterations in buffaloes affected with atony of gastrointestinal tract revealed significant higher total leucocyte count, neutrophils and significantly lower lymphocytes than the apparently healthy buffaloes.
