Several publications suggest that UTP11 may be a promising gene engaged for involvement of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) pathology. However, there are extremely limited biological, mechanistic and clinical studies of UTP11 in HCC.

Ribosomal RNA processing protein 15 (RRP15) has been found to regulate the progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Nevertheless, the extent to which it contributes to the spread of HCC cells remains uncertain. Thus, the objective of this research was to assess the biological function of RRP15 in the migration of HCC.

Cumulative evidences have been implicated cancer stem cells in the tumor environment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells, whereas the biological functions and prognostic significance of stemness related genes (SRGs) in HCC is still unclear.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the third main cause of cancer-related death. Cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) and their cyclin partners regulate the cell cycle. Since inhibition of CDKs gives some guiding ideas for cancer studies, we aimed to determine the possible effects of R547, a cyclin kinase 1-2-4 inhibitor, on proliferation and apoptotic mechanisms of Hep G2 cells (human) and H-4- II-E cells derived from rat HCC.

The results of transcriptome-wide gene expression data were analyzed in which the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified between HCC cell lines that are either resistant or sensitive to Se-deficiency-dependent oxidative stress. These DEGs were further investigated for their importance in oxidative stress resistance by network analysis methods, and 27 genes were defined to have key roles; 16 of which were previously shown to have impact on liver cancer patient survival.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common malignant tumor with high fatality rate. Recent studies reported that up-regulation of long non-coding RNA antisense non-coding RNA in the INK4 locus (lncRNA ANRIL) was found in HCC tissues, and which could affect HCC cells biological processes.

HIP/PAP is a C-type lectin overexpressed in hepatocel-lular carcinoma (HCC). Pleiotropic biological activities have been ascribed to this protein, but little is known about the function of HIP/PAP in the liver. In this study, therefore, we searched for proteins interacting with HIP/PAP by screening a HCC cDNA expression library. We have identified the RIIa regulatory subunit of cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA) as a partner of HIP/PAP. HIP/PAP and RIIa were coimmunoprecipi-tated in HIP/PAP expressing cells. ...

Human cystatin C (HCC) is a family 2 cystatin inhibitor of papain-like (C1) and legumain-related (C13) cysteine proteases. In pathophysiological processes, the nature of which is not understood, HCC is codeposited in the amyloid plaques of Alzheimer’s disease or Down’s syndrome.

The four-domain structure of botulinum neurotoxins (BoNTs) reflects their multistep intoxication process. The high toxicity of BoNTs primarily results from specific binding and uptake into neurons mediated by their 50-kDa cell-binding fragment (HC). X-ray crystallography data have revealed that the HCfragment consists of two domains of equal size, named the 25-kDa N-terminal half of HC(HCN) and the 25-kDa C-terminal half of HC(HCC).
