Despite the widespread use of the single item self-rated health (SRH) question, its reliability has never been evaluated in Chinese population. In Chinese middle-aged and older population, the reliability of SRH is generally good, although the two commonly used versions of SRH scales could not be compared directly. Both indices predict mortality, with similar predictive validity.

Hepatopathies are an important group of disorders in dogs where proper nutritional care is crucial. Supplementation with a hepatoprotectant like silybin can improve liver function and should not interfere with nutrient digestibility. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of both pure silybin and commercial hepatoprotectant on nutrients digestibility, liver function indices and health status in healthy dogs (EXP1).

Non-invasive methods are easy, simple, and effortless ways of collecting resources for the detection of biomarkers in water buffaloes. Among non-invasive fluid resources, saliva is a rich source of biomarkers, unlike milk and urine samples with no time restriction to obtain a sample. Saliva is a real-time indicator of the pathophysiology of animal health status, it has a source of many biomarkers including RNA and miRNAs, Studying RNA biology is less complex as compared to other “omics” study.

Soil health refers to the biological, chemical, and physical features of soil that are essential to long-term, sustainable agricultural productivity with minimal environmental impact. Thus, soil health provides an overall picture of soil functionality. Although it cannot be measured directly, soil health can be inferred by measuring specific soil properties (e.g. organic matter content) and by observing soil status (e.g. fertility).
