We employed a system dynamics approach to assess and predict the effect of the general practitioner service package (GPSP) and complementary incentive policies on the contract rate for 2015–2030. First, the GPSP is designed to address the unique needs of occupational populations, enhancing the attractiveness of GP contracting services, including three personalized service contents tailored to demand-side considerations.

The prevalence and consequences of musculoskeletal pain is considerable among healthcare workers, allegedly due to high physical work demands of healthcare work. Previous investigations have shown promising results of physical exercise for relieving pain among different occupational groups, but the question remains whether such physical exercise should be performed at the workplace or conducted as home-based exercise.

In developing countries, Occupation health and safety is not given priority. The Needle stick Injuries (NSI) are among the incidents which risk the safety of Health Care workers in the hospital and healthcare setup. The purpose of this study was to assess the prevalence of NSI’s in a tertiary care teaching hospital. A total of 70 NSI’s were reported and studied from January to December 2014. Needle stick injuries were more common among doctors and nurses and majority of the NSI’s were reported during blood collection (27%) followed by invasive procedures (21%).

Although clinical sample containers can be perceived to be harbouring pathogens on their outer surfaces, a vast majority of healthcare personnel appear to be accustomed to keeping this fact out of their minds due to unknown reasons. The current study provides a cross sectional view of this complex, often ignored, scenario of overlooking subtle infection control practices that may lead to acquisition of potentially infectious bacteria.

Before choosing or recommending information resources for men with prostate cancer, health- care professionals should check that their content is clear, reliable and up to date. Healthcare professionals should seek feedback from men with prostate cancer and their carers to identify the highest quality information resources. Healthcare professionals caring for men with prostate cancer should ascertain the extent to which the man wishes to be involved in decision making and ensure that he has sufficient information to do so.

Psychological distress increases with the intensity of cancer pain. Cancer pain is often under-reported and under-treated for a variety of complex reasons, partly due to a number of beliefs held by patients, families and healthcare professionals. There is evidence that cognitive behavioural techniques that address catastrophising and promote self-efficacy lead to improved pain management. Group format pain management programmes could contribute to the care of cancer survivors with persistent pain.

COPD, although preventable and treatable, is not currently curable. hus, the primary prevention of COPD remains a critical action for public health. New investigations into COPD risk factors could explore occupational hazards, environmental exposures, genetics, family history, and co-morbid conditions such as asthma. Investigation of proper training and clinical use of spirometry and evidence-based treatment modalities is also warranted.
