Our findings demonstrate the presence of distinct metabolites in the serum of gastric cancer patients compared to healthy individuals. Lysophosphatidic acid, triglycerides, lysine, sphingosine1-phosphate, phosphatidylcholine, oxidized ceramide, and phosphatidylglycerol hold potential as biomarkers for evaluating postoperative efficacy and monitoring recurrence in gastric cancer patients.

Along with the social and economic challenges posed by an aging society, creating work conditions that allow persons to stay healthy and work into old age has become a major task of Western societies. Retaining employment after returning to work is particularly difficult for individuals with a disability, as evidenced by the high rate of premature labor market dropout.

Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) is a common hematological malignancy that develops in the lymphatic system. A20, CYLD, IFN-γ, JAK2, PI3KCA, and TP53 are known as inflammationrelated genes in autoimmune diseases and cancers. In the end, 126 patients with NHL and 109 healthy individuals with well-characterized clinical profiles were enrolled.

In this study, all the expressions of Otubain-1, NF-κB2, SHPs and STATs genes, the concentrations of cytokines IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α and clinical features in NHL patients were examined. To the end, gene expression levels of 82 NHL patients and 56 healthy individuals were determined by quantitative real time RT-PCR and secretion of cytokines by ELISA.

In this study, we established the relationship between male infertility and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of TDRD1 (rs541192490, rs77559927) among 310 Vietnamese men (160 infertile patients and 150 healthy controls). Genotypes of single nucleotide polymorphisms of the TDRD1 gene (SNPs) were identified using the PCR-RFLP method.

This study aimed to assess the association of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) TEX15 rs323347 with male infertile individuals in a Vietnamese cohort and further analyze the haplotypes of TEX15 rs323346 and TEX15 rs323347. A total of 401 unrelated males, including 202 male infertility patients and 199 healthy controls were genotyped for TEX15 rs323347 using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCRRFLP).

In recent years, the number of studies investigating the impact of the gut microbiome in colorectal cancer (CRC) has risen sharply. As a result, we now know that various microbes (and microbial communities) are found more frequently in the stool and mucosa of individuals with CRC than healthy controls, including in the primary tumors themselves, and even in distant metastases.

In numbers of healthy individuals are undergoing predispositional personal genome sequencing. Here we describe the design and early outcomes of the PeopleSeq Consortium, a multi-cohort collaboration of predispositional genome sequencing projects, which is examining the medical, behavioral, and economic outcomes of returning genomic sequencing information to healthy individuals.

Impact of rare and common genetic variation in the interleukin-1 pathway on human cytokine responses
The interleukin (IL)-1 pathway is primarily associated with innate immunological defense and plays a major role in the induction and regulation of inflammation. Both common and rare genetic variation in this pathway underlies various inflammation-mediated diseases, but the role of rare variants relative to common variants in immune response variability in healthy individuals remains unclear.

Blood plasma proteins play an important role in immune defense against pathogens, including cytokine signaling, the complement system, and the acute-phase response. Recent large-scale studies have reported genetic (i.e., protein quantitative trait loci, pQTLs) and non-genetic factors, such as age and sex, as major determinants to inter-individual variability in immune response variation.

Klebsiella pneumoniae (Kp) Gram-negative bacteria cause nosocomial infections and rapidly acquire antimicrobial resistance (AMR), which makes it a global threat to human health. It also has a comparatively rare hypervirulent phenotype that can lead to severe disease in otherwise healthy individuals.

To unravel how the integrity of nuclear and mitochondrial circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) contributes to its plasma quantity in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. Methods CfDNA from plasma samples of 80 CRC patients stratified by tumour stage and 50 healthy individuals were extracted. Total cfDNA concentration was determined and equal template concentrations (ETC) were analyzed by quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) resulting in small and long fragments of KRAS, Alu and MTCO3.

Lifestyle-related diseases is the generic term for diseases associated with individuals’ way of life, including hypertension, dyslipidemia, and diabetes. These diseases are triggered by certain lifestyles, such as eating habits and exercise habits, which reduce healthy life expectancy. In addition, as a lifestyle-related disease progresses, complications occur, leading to decrease in quality of life.

Consumer’s sensory perception of food attributes plays a vital role in food preference. Sensory responses to the flavor (taste and aroma), color, and texture of food are determinants of individual food choices. A descriptive cross-sectional survey on perception of food attributes was conducted on 400 respondents (aged ≤40 years) to evaluate consumers’ perception of flavoral attributes and perceived role of chosen foods in a healthy diet.
