WRKY DNA-binding protein (WRKY) is a large gene family involved in plant responses and adaptation to salt, drought, cold and heat stresses. Sweet potato from the genus Ipomoea is a staple food crop, but the WRKY genes in Ipomoea species remain unknown to date.

Enhancement of crop productivity under various abiotic stresses is a major objective of agronomic research. Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) as one of the world’s staple crops is highly sensitive to heat stress, which can adversely affect both yield and quality.

Walnut (Juglans regia) is an important tree cultivated worldwide and is exposed to a series of both abiotic and biotic stress during their life-cycles. The heat stress transcription factors (HSFs) play a crucial role in plant response to various stresses by regulating the expression of stress-responsive genes.

As global warming continues, heat stress (HS) is becoming an increasingly significant factor limiting plant growth and reproduction, especially for cool-season grass species. The objective of this study was to determine the transcriptional regulatory network of Cleistogenes songorica under HS via transcriptome profiling, identify of gene families and comparative analysis across major Poaceae species.

The 26S proteasome plays a central role in the proteolytic machinery. Organism relies on proteolysis to control key regulatory proteins and enzymes. Mutation of some subunits of the 26S proteasome affects growth and development. Additionally, these mutations altered stress responses such as heat, oxidative stress, etc. Recent studies showed that altered expression of some transcription factors resulted in abnormal gene expression of subunits of the 26S proteasome.

Temperature extremes represent an important limiting factor to plant growth and productivity. The present study evaluated the effect of hydroponic pretreatment of strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa cv. ‘Camarosa’) roots with an H2S donor, sodium hydrosulfide (NaHS; 100 μM for 48 h), on the response of plants to acute heat shock treatment (42°C, 8 h).

Heat stress factors (Hsfs) play vital roles in signal transduction pathways operating in responses to environmental stresses. However, Hsf gene family has not been thoroughly explored in tea plant (Camellia sinensis L.).

Heat shock transcription factors (Hsfs) are present in majority of plants and play central roles in thermotolerance, transgenerational thermomemory, and many other stress responses. Our previous paper identified at least 82 Hsf members in a genome-wide study on wheat (Triticum aestivum L.).

Crop quality and yield are affected by abiotic and biotic stresses, and heat shock transcription factors (Hsfs) are considered to play important roles in regulating plant tolerance under various stresses. To investigate the response of Cucurbita moschata to abiotic stress, we analyzed the genome of C. moschata.

Heat Shock Transcription Factor 1 (HSF1) is activated under stress conditions. In turn, it induces expression of Heat Shock Proteins (HSPs), which are well-known regulators of protein homeostasis. Elevated levels of HSF1 and HSPs were observed in many types of tumors.

Elevated temperature as a result of global climate warming, either in form of sudden heatwave (heat shock) or prolonged warming, has profound effects on the growth and development of plants. However, how plants differentially respond to these two forms of elevated temperatures is largely unknown.

Heat shock transcription factor (HSF), an evolutionarily conserved stress response regulator, forms trimers and binds to heat shock element (HSE), comprising at least three continuous inverted repeats of the sequence 5¢-nGAAn-3¢. The single HSF of yeast is also able to bind discontinuously arranged nGAAn units. We investigated interactions between three human HSFs and various HSE typesin vitro, in yeast cells, and in HeLa cells.

Heat shock factors form a family of transcription factors (four in mam-mals), which were named according to the first discovery of their activation by heat shock. As a result of the universality and robustness of their response to heat shock, the stress-dependent activation of heat shock factor became a ‘paradigm’: by binding to conserved DNA sequences (heat shock elements), heat shock factors trigger the expression of genes encoding heat shock proteins that function as molecular chaperones

Heat shock factor (HSF) is an evolutionarily conserved stress-response reg-ulator that activates the transcription of heat shock protein genes, whose products maintain protein homeostasis under normal physiological condi-tions, as well as under conditions of stress. The promoter regions of the target genes contain a heat shock element consisting of multiple inverted repeats of the pentanucleotide sequence nGAAn.
