The total number of hemocytes and their morphological characteristics were analyzed in Helix pomatia Linnaeus, 1758, by light microscopy during different phases of hibernation. Three types of hemocytes were identified: hyalinocytes, agranulocytes, and granulocytes. Total number of hemocytes decreased significantly during hibernation. Most intensive changes in cell size, morphology, and appearance of special structures in granulocytes happened during the hibernation period itself.

Megaloblastic anemia or bone marrow changes could occur after prolonged nitrous oxide inhalation via vitamin B12 inactivation related DNA synthesis impairment. Previous researches have studied hematological changes with nitrous oxide exposure, but only in adults or adolescents. Pre-school age children with active hematopoietic red bone marrow are more vulnerable to potential side effects of nitrous oxide and might experience growth impairment.

Bovine fibropapillomatosis has been reported previously by various authors in India, but the sero biochemical profile of the disease has not been described so far in Tamil Nadu, elsewhere in India. The present study is on hematological, sero biochemical and histopathological changes in eight naturally infected calves were compared with eight healthy calves.

An experiment was conducted to study the influence of dietary fucoidan from brown seaweeds viz., Padina tetrastromatica and Sargassum oligocystum on the innate immunity and disease resistance of fish Oreochromis mossambicus. Fucoidan was supplemented with fish feed at different concentrations such as 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3% to observe hematological changes and non-specific immunological properties for a period of 60 days.

Cisplatin (CP) is considered one of the most effective and widely used anti-neoplastic drug in the treatment of different solid organ tumors. The present study was carried out to assess the hematological changes following CP administration in Wistar albino rats and its amelioration by extract of Andrographis paniculata (AP). The study included 60 Wistar albino rats were divided into 12 rats in each group. Group I served as normal control group.

The purpose of this study is to assess the prevalence of Helicobacter spp. in stomach of dogs with renal failure and to document the histopathological changes in Helicobacter spp. associated uremic gastritis in dogs. The present study consisted of 10 apparently healthy dogs and 35 dogs with chronic renal failure identified by detailed clinical examination, hematology, serum biochemistry, urinalysis and nephrosonography. Gastroscopy aided mucosal biopsies were taken using gastrofibrescope (OLYMPUS type GF*) in apparently healthy dogs and dogs with various grades of Azotenia.

The present study was aimed to have an in-depth study on haemato-biochemical alterations in mastitis cows along with compositional changes in mastitis milk. There was an overall incidence of 41.88 % of mastitis screened on basis of clinical signs, SCC and MCMT with 77.56 % subclinical mastitis and 22.54 % of clinical mastitis. Hematology of mastitis cows revealed anemia with significant decrease in Hb, TEC and PCV, leucocytosis with nutrophilia, eosinophilia and lymphopaenia.

Patients with febrile neutropenia (FN) exhibit changes in extracellular fluid that may alter the plasma concentrations of beta-lactams and result in therapeutic failure or toxicity. We evaluated the pharmacokinetics of piperacillin/tazobactam in patients with hematological malignancies and FN after receiving chemotherapy at a primary public cancer center.

Three separate experiments were carried out to assess combined effects of temperature and salinity and induced stress on blood variables of Tra catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) fingerlings. Some hematological parameters included Haemoglobin concentration, glucose and pH levels which were tested in different conditions. The experiment 1 aimed to test how blood variables change in different temperature (24, 28-30, 32 oC) and salinity (0, 6 and 12 ppt) while the experiment 2 induced catfish fingerlings to different stress time (5, 15 and 30 min.).

Canine babesiosis is a hemoprotozoan parasite affecting dogs. The goal of this study was to provide an overview of molecular examination of babesiosis and heamato-biochemical changes in canine babesiosis infected dogs. In this study, 8 cases infected with Babesia were confirmed by means of hematological, biochemical and multiplex PCR. The most common clinical signs were anorexia, pale or icteric mucous membranes, high rise of temperature and dark urine colour.

Exercises are often recommended for patients suffering from anemia to improve physical conditioning and hematologic parameters. Hence, the present study aimed to investigate the impact of moderate intensity aerobic exercise on chemotherapy-induced anemia. Thirty elderly women with breast cancer underwent chemotherapy and were randomly assigned into two equal groups; Group A received aerobic exercise for 25–40 min at 50–70% of the maximum heart rate, 3 times/week for 12 weeks in addition to usual daily living activities, medication and nutritional support.
