Hepatic disorders

Eclipta prostrata (L.) is a traditional herbal medicine belonging to the Eclipta genus in the Asteraceae family. This plant is widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions such as South America and Asia. According to the traditional medicine of some Asian countries (China, India, Thailand), E. prostrata is used to treat hepatic and renal diseases, diabetes, skin diseases, respiratory disorders, cool blood, and stanch bleeding.

In this study, two derivatives of hydrazineylidene-3-oxopropanal: chlorophenyl (CPHO) and Nitrophenyl (NPHO) substituted hydrazineylidene compounds were synthesized, spectroscopically characterized using (FT-IR, UV, and NMR), and theoretically modelled as a potential drug for the treatment of antiviral hepatitis (HBV and HCV) using insillico molecular docking approach.

Macrophage activation syndrome is a rare disorder leading to unregulated immune activity manifesting with nonspecific constitutional symptoms, laboratory abnormalities, and multiorgan involvement. We report the case of a patient who presented with acute hepatitis secondary to macrophage activation syndrome diagnosed by liver biopsy and successfully treated with intravenous immune globulin, anakinra, and rituximab.

Lymphoproliferative disorders (LPDs) occur frequently in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) under methotrexate treatment. Some LPDs spontaneously regressed after methotrexate discontinuation, but classic Hodgkin lymphoma (CHL)-type LPDs frequently relapse, and chemotherapy is usually required for the treatment. CHL usually spreads in contiguous lymph nodes and then infiltrates in organs at an advanced stage.
