Heritage valuation

Restoration and conservation of heritage brings to many values: culture, aesthetics, education, environment, society, history as well as many other values. One of the most mentioned values in recent year is the economic value. This paper examines the economic value of restoring and preserving heritage ecosystems from an approach that valuates the economic value of natural ecosystems and offers some suggestions for valuation process of economic value of the Ham Rong - Nui Do heritage ecosystem.

This paper presents arguments for the superiority of the public good demand curve over that of private goods in the scope of heritage valuation, and initially applies the zonal travel cost method (ZTCM) in evaluating Hoi An, a World Heritage town in Central Vietnam, to look for evidence of such superiority.

We use three models to estimate health damages from PM10. First, we use an air dispersion model to estimate each source’s contribution to annual average ambient levels of PM10 at several thousand receptor locations in Paso del Norte. Next, we use a health effects model to estimate the number of cases of human mortality and morbidity that result from this pollution each year.
