High biodiversity index

Thuong Tien Nature reserve has high level of biodiversity. However, insect is one of the least study groups compared to other groups of animals in the reserve. In this study ant specimens were collected by using linetransect and point methods in Thuong Tien Nature reserve. Consequently, the researchers has initially identified 34 species of ants in 04 subfamilies (Dolichoderinae, Formicinae, Myrmicinae, and Ponerinae), and 23 genus. Of the 34 species, there are 10 ones that has been only determined for genus.

This paper provides information about effect of elevation on plant diversity in Ba Vi National Park which has 3 types of natural forest and 2 types of artificial one. Plant composition is different among the elevation of Ba Vi National Park not only by number of plant species in general but also about high conservation value species.

Research results have identified 173 species of coastal benthic Kien Luong, belonging to 122 genera, 75 families and 7 representative groups. Among the discovered species, Gastropod Molluscs have the highest number of species with 70 species, followed by bivalve molluscs with 51 species, crustaceans with 40 species. Other groups account for a lower proportion: Polychaeta has 9 species, Scaphopoda has 2 species, Cephalopoda and Chelicerata all have 1 species.

Diversity of insect pests influenced by pesticides usages, Simpson index (D) of biodiversity index of insects were calculated. Significant difference was observed among the different pesticide usage patterns, and respective unsprayed plots. In cabbage, D=0.62, D= 0.26 in pesticide and unsprayed plots respectively and brinjal, D=0.64, D= 0.31 (pooled) were recorded in pesticide and unsprayed plots respectively where is no significant difference of insect diversity was noticed in low pesticide usage crops maize D=0.83, D= 0.80 in pesticide and unsprayed plots respectively and sorghum D=0.

Hot-spot biodiversity is a concentrated site of high species diversity, high species endemicity, and habitat uniqueness. Biodiversity disperses unevenly across the global, regional and regional scope. Hot-spot biodiversity developed into an approach to assessing the concentration of biodiversity at certain limits. The biodiversity hot-spot approach is conducted using indicator species such as bird species that are used as ecotourism development for sustainable forest exploitation.
