High frequency harmonic

The electronic states of FeSin −/0/+ (n = 1-2) clusters have been investigated with DFT, CASPT2, and DMRGCASPT2 methods. By using relatively large active spaces, the DMRG-CASPT2 method is found to provide highly accurate relative energies for the various relevant electronic states. Leading configurations, bond distances, harmonic vibrational frequencies, and relative energies for the low-lying states of the title clusters are reported.

This paper presents a research result of the effect of high harmonic ratio primary current on the relative error of instrument transformers. The increasing relative error could be explained by using a first order timed delay element of the current transformer versus the fast-changing load current.

Piezoelectric materials form the backbone of several components utilized in communication systems, defense systems, industrial automation, medical diagnostics, energy storage and harvesting, and information technology. In high performance piezoelectric applications the material of choice is based upon lead-based composition with Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 (PZT) being the base. Recently worldwide environmental considerations are demanding the elimination of lead-based materials from all the consumer items. This has created urgency for finding alternative to PZT.

I enjoyed reading this book for a number of reasons. One reason is that it addresses high-speed analog design in the context of microwave issues. This is an advanced level book, which should follow courses in basic circuits and transmission lines. Most analog integrated circuit designers in the past worked on applications at a low enough frequency that microwave issues did not arise. As a consequence, they were adept at lumped parameter circuits and often not comfortable with circuits where waves travel in space.
