The objectives of the thesis: Identify the pathogenicity potential and classificate at species level of Colletotrichum spp. isolated from hot chilli in Vietnam; produce stable oligochitosan-silica nano, which potentially highly induced effectively the systemic resistance against anthranose disease on hot chilli, based on the combination of low molecular weight chitosan with nano silica.

Purified human Rad51 and Rad52 proteins exhibit multiple oligomeric states, in vitro. Single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) renders high molecular weight aggregates of both proteins into smaller and soluble forms that include even the monomers. Consequently, these proteins that have a pro-pensity to interact with each other’s higher order forms by themselves, start interacting with monomeric forms in the presence of ssDNA, presumably reflecting the steps of protein assembly on DNA.

The myotonic dystrophy protein kinase polypeptide repertoire in mice and humans consists of six different splice isoforms that vary in the nature of their C-terminal tails and in the presence or absence of an internal Val– Ser–Gly–Gly–Gly motif. Here, we demonstrate that myotonic dystrophy protein kinase isoforms exist in high-molecular-weight complexes controlled by homo- and heteromultimerization.

Many branchiopod crustaceans are endowed with extracellular, high-molecular-weight hemoglobins whose exact structural characteristics have remained a matter of conjecture. By using a broad spectrum of techniques, we provide precise and coherent information on the hemoglobin of one of the phylogenetically ‘oldest’ extant branchiopods, the tadpole shrimp Triops cancriformis.

NADH dehydrogenase activity was characterized in the mitochondrial lysates of Phytomonas serpens, a trypanosomatid flagellate parasitizing plants. Two different high molecular weight NADH dehydrogenases were characterized by native PAGE and detected by direct in-gel activity stain-ing.

In the biomineralization processes, proteins are thought to control the polymorphism and morphology of the crystals by forming complexes of structural and mineral-associated proteins. To identify such proteins, we have searched for proteins that may form high-molecular-weight (HMW) aggregates in the matrix of fish otoliths that have aragonite and vaterite as their crystal polymorphs.

Starch-active enzymes often possess starch-binding domains (SBDs) medi-ating attachment to starch granules and other high molecular weight sub-strates. SBDs are divided into nine carbohydrate-binding module (CBM) families, and CBM20 is the earliest-assigned and best characterized family.

High molecular weight kininogen (HK) is an abundant plasma protein that plays a central role for the function of the kallikrein⁄kinin⁄kininogen sys-tem. Thus, cleavage of HK by kallikrein liberates bradykinin, which stimu-lates vascular repair and a two-chain protein, activated HK (HKa), which induces apoptosis in proliferating endothelial cells.
