Viburnum mullaha is a popular wild edible fruit widely distributed in Nepal’s mid-hills. Locals consume the fruits of the plants raw and use them to treat a variety of diseases. High value of fat (15%) and protein (3.94%) was evaluated in the seed compared to the pulp with fat 2.1% and protein 1.17%. Both the pulp and the seed exhibited high values of total phenolic content (3346.1 1 ± 0.05 and 2331.03 ± 0.02 mg QAEs/100 g respectively).

A field experiment was conducted during the rabi season of 2019-20 at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya University, Raipur, Rajmohini Devi College of Agriculture and Research Station, Ambikapur, to study the effect of sowing dates and planting geometry on yield attributes, yield and economics of linseed. The present study was conducted at Hill Agricultural Research and Extension centre, Kullu, in mid-hill sub-humid zone of Himachal Pradesh in order to investigate the effect of organic, inorganic and integrated nutrient management practices on soil microbial properties. The microbial count was found maximum (6.5 X 105 cfu/ml) in organic plot and minimum (2.6 X 105 cfu/ml) in inorganic.

Longleng district falls under the subtropical hill zone of Eastern Nagaland. Agriculture is the main stay of the people, in which Low land (Pani Kheti) is one of them for their livelihood. Farmers of the district practiced traditional rice cultivation with low yield after maximum inputs due to lack of knowledge of improved cultivation practices. Therefore, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) took initiative to replace the farmers’ practices through disseminations of improved technology for enhancing the productivity and income.

A field experiment was conducted at Eastern Block Farm, Department of Agronomy, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore during kharif 2017 and 2018 (July to November) to identify the rooting pattern and productivity of maize under high density planting. The field experiment was laid out in randomized block design and replicated thrice. In India more than 50% of the total cultivated area is still being managed by using draught animals. With the modernization of agriculture, the use of tractors has increased but draught animals continue to be used on Indian farms. This mainly due to small land holdings and hill agriculture (G. Singh), India possessed the finest breeds of draught animals. Bullocks, buffaloes and camels are the major draught animals for field operations. Horses, mules, donkeys, yak and mithun are the pack animals for transport.

Uttarakhand is one of the hill states of India that lies in the Central Himalayan region wherein agriculture & livestock form the basis of subsistent livelihood for the population. Livestock is an integral part of mountain agriculture; moreover, bullocks are considered as the lifeline of farming in the hilly terrain as they prepare the field for carrying various agricultural activities. Therefore, a study was done to measure the field performance of bullocks in terms of field efficiency, work hours/day and work rate/ha and data was taken from 40 pairs of bullocks at the time of ploughing.

In hilly areas, local population with their traditional knowledge utilize several medicinal herbs and plants parts for treating injuries and aliments of their livestock, agricultural crop and human population. Among these Pyrus pashia, commonly known as Indian pear or Mehal is hardy wild mid hill fruiting tree. Crude leave extract traditionally used for treating infection of toe finger particularly during rainy season. Fruit juice and ripe fruits of P. pashia used for treating eye injury and mouth sours.
