Accurate lung cancer classification is crucial to guide therapeutic decisions. However, histological subtyping by pathologists requires tumor tissue—a necessity that is often intrinsically associated with procedural difficulties. The analysis of circulating tumor DNA present in minimal-invasive blood samples, referred to as liquid biopsies, could therefore emerge as an attractive alternative.

Steatohepatitic hepatocellular carcinoma (SH-HCC) is one of the most common hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) subtypes, with a frequency of 5-20%. These tumor are well-differentiated and show distinct histologic features resembling steatohepatitis: Macrovesicular steatosis, inflammation, balloon cells, Mallory-Denk bodies and pericellular fibrosis.

Nodular lymphocyte predominant Hodgkin lymphoma (NLPHL) and T cell/histiocyte-rich large B-cell lymphoma (THRLBCL) have overlapping histological features that make their diagnosis challenging. Insulin-like growth factor II mRNA-binding protein 3 (IMP3) is a recently proposed diagnostic marker for Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Histological grade has been demonstrated to be an important factor of breast cancer outcome and is associated with cell differentiation and is currently being evaluated via H&E-stained sections. Molecular biomarkers are essential to improve the accuracy of histological grading.

Signet ring cell carcinoma (SRCC) represents an extremely rare histological type for colon cancer, accounting for less than 1% of all colon neoplasms. SRCC is usually aggressive and it is associated with poor prognosis. It can be divided into mucinous adenocarcinoma (MAC) with signet cells and signet cell of more than 50% of the tumor area. Main differential diagnosis is metastatic gastric signet cell carcinoma.

Sweet syndrome (SS) is an acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis that is histologically characterized by an infiltration of the dermis by neutrophils. A 12-year-old adolescent female patient recently diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia presented with fever and was hospitalized for antibiotic management after 22 days of being treated with a treatment protocol based on daunorubicin, all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA), and prophylaxis with dexamethasone, the patient developed erythematous skin lesions located mostly on the extremities.

Results of the histological assessment of the prefrontal cortex reveal normal histology for T0, marked with an intact nucleus, and prominent and organized cells. Tissue architecture for T- reveals the reduction of cells and necrosis. T+ and T1 groups both maintained intact and well-stained nuclei that are comparable with T0. Interestingly, cellular proliferation has been noted for the Z. talanai group, which indicates possible neuronal differentiation. Overall, Z. talanai extract has been observed to exert antinecrotic capacities in the mouse brain.

Malignant struma ovarii is a very rare type of gynecologic cancer. Although its most common histological subtype is a pure type of papillary thyroid carcinoma containing two components, papillary carcinoma and poorly differentiated carcinoma, malignant struma ovarii is still extremely rare.

To examine whether acute lung injury from direct and indirect origins differ in susceptibility to ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI) and resultant systemic inflammatory responses. During MV more severe lung injury develops after acid instillation as compared to sepsis. HVt causes VILI after acid instillation, but not during sepsis. However, this differential effect was not observed in the systemic release of mediators.

Targeted therapy for non-small cell lung cancer is histology dependent. However, histological classification by routine pathological assessment with hematoxylin-eosin staining and immunostaining for poorly differentiated tumors, particularly those from small biopsies, is still challenging.

Bronchiolar adenoma(BA) is a recently recognized, rare tumor of the bronchioles. It can be divided into proximal and distal types according to the proportion of mucinous and ciliated cells on the luminal surface. BA is often misdiagnosed because it has similar ultrasonographic, gross and histological presentations as other diseases.

T1rho and T2 relaxation times of the normal adult knee meniscus at 3T: Analysis of zonal differences
Prior studies describe histological and immunohistochemical differences in collagen and proteoglycan content in different meniscal zones. The aim of this study is to evaluate horizontal and vertical zonal differentiation of T1rho and T2 relaxation times of the entire meniscus from volunteers without symptom and imaging abnormality.
