Pathologists are currently supposed to be aware of both domestic and international guidelines for breast cancer diagnosis, but it is unclear how successfully these guidelines have been integrated into routine clinical practice in China. Thus, this national proficiency testing (PT) scheme for breast pathology was set up to conduct a baseline assessment of the diagnostic capability of pathologists in China.

The present study was undertaken to evaluate the effects of Thuocnamtieuu in AOM/ DSS-induced-colorectal tumors mice. 48 six-week-old Swiss mice were randomly divided into 06 groups. Two doses of Thuocnamtieuu were administered via intragastric gavage to Swiss mouse with AOM/ DSS induced colorectal tumours. After 28 days treatment, all mice were sacrified. Assessment of the number and size of colorectal tumours, histopathological analysis were performed.

The water quality of rivers located in areas close to major cities is deteriorating significantly due to increased pollution. The Karasu River, which passes through Erzurum city Turkey, is getting polluted day by day due to domestic and industrial wastewater. In the study, various assessments were made in three different fish species to determine the impact of possible contamination here. Capoeta capoeta, Alburnus mossulensis and Squalius cephalus were caught from four stations of the river.

Current interstitial lung disease (ILD) diagnostic guidelines assess criteria across clinical, radiologic and pathologic domains. Significant interobserver variation in histopathologic evaluation has previously been shown but the specific source of these discrepancies is poorly documented.

Cardiac hypertrophy (CH), leading to cardiac failure is due to chronic metabolic alterations occurring during cellular stress. Besides the already known relationship between oxidative stress and CH, there are implications of reductive stress leading to CH. This study attempted to develop reductive stress-based CH rat model using n-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC), a glutathione agonist that was compared with typical isoproterenol (ISO) induced CH model.

Re-excision rates following breast conserving surgery (BCS) remain as high as ~ 35%, with positive margins detected during follow-up histopathology. Additional breast cancer resection surgery is not only taxing on the patient and health care system, but also delays adjuvant therapies, increasing morbidity and reducing the likelihood of a positive outcome.

In vivo assessment of inflammatory responses in the synovia of patients with MoM hip replacements would be useful in the determination of the prognosis of the hip replacement. Aims of the study was to investigate the correlation between cobalt and chrome levels in joint fluid with histopathological findings and the predictive ability of metal ion levels for these findings.

Impaired contractile function of the supraspinatus in the acute period following a rotator cuff tear
Rotator cuff (RTC) tears are a common clinical problem resulting in adverse changes to the muscle, but there is limited information comparing histopathology to contractile function. This study assessed supraspinatus force and susceptibility to injury in the rat model of RTC tear, and compared these functional changes to histopathology of the muscle.

This study aims to investigate the technical feasibility of semi-quantitative and quantitative dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) in the assessment of longitudinal changes of marrow perfusion in a rat osteoporosis model, using bone mineral density (BMD) measured by micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) and histopathology as the gold standards.

As high percentage of mammographic densities complicates the assessment of imaging findings, mammographic density may influence the histopathological evaluation of core-biopsies of the breast. We measured the influence of mammographic density on the inter-observer variability of histopathological findings of breast biopsies.

The lack of prognostic biomarkers in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) has hampered treatment decision making and survival in OSCC remains poor. Histopathological features are used for prognostication in OSCC and, although useful for predicting risk, manual assessment of histopathology is subjective and labour intensive.

Better biomarkers for assessing risk of relapse in stage I testicular germ cell tumor patients are needed, to complement classical histopathological variables. We aimed to assess the prognostic value of previously suggested biomarkers, related to proliferation (MIB-1 and TEX19) and to immune microenvironment (CXCL12, CXCR4, beta-catenin and MECA-79) in a surveillance cohort of stage I testicular germ cell tumor patients.

Morphological and histo-pathological effects of a common broad spectrum systemic organophosphate insecticide, Phorate (O, O-Diethyl S-(ethylthio) methyl phasphoroditl) were evaluated on the integument of an epigeic earthworm, Eisenia fetida. The acute toxicity experiments were conducted by direct contact test (48 h) through a filter paper method recommended by OECD Guideline, 207. The LC50 value for 48 h was recorded and it was 20-40µl.
