Horticultural interventions

A study was conducted in District Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh State of India to assess the knowledge of beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries towards different scientific interventions and their potential prospects being offered under World Bank supported flagship programme viz Diversified Agriculture Support Project (DASP). For this purpose, a series of relevant questions / statements with respect of Agriculture (Crop Husbandry), Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Sericulture were administered on beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries.

The present study was conducted in purposely selected Southern area of Rajasthan as NAIP was implemented in four districts of Southern Rajasthan viz., Banswara, Dungarpur, Sirohi and Udaipur. Out of these, two districts i.e. Banswara and Dungarpur were selected for present investigation on the basis of maximum concentration of tribal population. To have an equal representation of survey area, all the 25 villages in which the NAIP programme implemented were included in the proposed study.

Cultivation of flower has now become an important agri-business all over the world. There is high demand for the flower in Namakkal District especially during festival seasons and special occasions. Tapioca is the major tuber crops cultivated in Namakkal District. Due to severe reduction of price in tapioca tuber, long crop duration, monopoly in the marketing system and minimum net profit lead to gradual reduction of area under tapioca cultivation from 15260 ha to 6000 ha.

This compilation includes various diseases observed in Zoba-Anseba, Eritrea during a decade of time from 2007-2017. The total productive area of horticultural farms in this Zoba is over 26,885 ha and it is one of the most drought-prone regions of Eritrea. Farmers grow crops such cereals, oil seeds, vegetables and fruits etc. Enormous pathogens such as fungi, bacteria and other microbes; nematodes, and intervention of migratory insect pests cause a lot of damage to these crops and finally it leads in yield loss.

The technique can be applied for chlorophyll level monitoring in basic photosynthesis research, agriculture, horticulture, and forestry. Thus, it is imperative to study their effect upon the crops and discriminate among abiotic stresses using new noninvasive and nondestructive remote sensing precision diagnostic techniques.
