Dermal Papilla Cells (DPCs) are mesenchymal cells residing at the base of the hair follicles. They play an important role in the hair cycle remodeling and hair follicle regeneration. In conclusion, the protocol is established to isolate and culture DPCs from hair follicle bulbs, and ALP activity is suggested as the major marker for distinguishing DPCs and human fibroblasts.

This study aimed to assess the effects of simulated microgravity (SMG) on senescent human fibroblasts (HFs). The HFs were treated with 150 µM H2O2 in a culture medium for 90 minutes for senescent induction. This study investigated the in vitro effects of ZnO NP and chemical UV filters commonly used sunscreens on the function of immortalised and primary skin cells. ZnO particulates (30 nm, 80 nm and 200 nm) were compared to the chemical UV filters: butylmethoxydibenzoylmethane (BMDBM) ethylhexylmethoxycinnamate (EHMC), ethylhexylsalicylate (EHS), homomenthylsalicylate (HMS) and 4-methylbenzylidenecamphor (MBC). Human epidermal keratinocytes (NHEK), epidermal melanocytes (NHEM), dermal fibroblasts (NHDF) and the immortalised keratinocyte HaCaT cell line were used in this study.

Using chemicals known as inhibitors of chromatin remodeling enzymes is a useful approach in understanding the regulation machinery that contributes to the maintenance of or conversion to a pluri- and totipotent states of the cells in multicellular organisms. They can serve as tools to reveal the molecular and cellular mechanisms required for reprogramming. A deeper understanding of reprogramming pathways that drive the cell into a dedifferentiated state might help us enhance plant micropropagation and green biotechnology applications.

Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) transition metal complexes of 2-hydroxy-5-[(E)-(4-phenyl) diazenyl] benzaldehyde oxime and 2-hydroxy-5-[(E)-(4-nitrophenyl) diazenyl] benzaldehyde oxime ligands were synthesized and characterized through NMR, IR, ESI mass, and UV analysis. DNA binding abilities of the complexes were revealed using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer with the absorption titration and competitive binding techniques. Hydrolytic and oxidative DNA cleavage activities under different conditions were also proved.

Pirfenidone is a novel anti-fibrotic and anti-inflammatory agent that inhibits the progression of fibrosis in animal models and in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). We previously showed that pirfenidone inhibits the over-expression of collagen type I and of heat shock protein (HSP) 47, a collagen-specific molecular chaperone, in human lung fibroblasts stimulated with transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1 in vitro.
