=Stimulated by the depletion of phosphate resources and the need to avoid eutrophication, phosphate removal/ recovery has been studied in recent years. The aim of this study is to investigate the feasibility of phosphate recovery from wastewater by the hybrid system consisting of pellet reactor and selectrodialysis. The phosphates will be pre-concentrated in the selectrodialysis and then be recovered by a crystallization process where it will precipitate on to sand grains as calcium phosphate in a pellet reactor

The cassava starch production in India is mainly concentrated in small to medium scale factories, which generates 30,000 to 40,000 liters of effluent per tonne of sago produced. The effluent from these industries is acidic and highly organic in nature having COD of 5000 to 7000 mg/l during the season and 1000 to 5000 during the off-season. These effluents pose a serious threat to the environment and quality of life in the both rural and cities.

Steady-state operation of a fusion power plant requires external current drive to minimize the power requirements, and a high fraction of bootstrap current is required. One of the external sources for current drive is lower hybrid current drive, which has been widely applied in many tokamaks. Here, using lower hybrid simulation code, we calculate electron distribution function, electron currents and phase velocity changes for two options of demonstration reactor at the launched lower hybrid wave frequency 5 GHz.

This research also introduces a supplementary reactivity control mechanism using stainless steel as mechanical shim (MS) rod to obtain the criticality during normal operation. A further analysis is performed to investigate the local power peaking of the CSBA-loaded FA at MS-rodded condition. Moreover, a simple B4C-based control rod arrangement is proposed to assure a sufficient shutdown margin even at the cold-zero-power condition.

The aim of this paper is to determine neutronic performances of the light water reactor (LWR) spent fuel mixed with fertile thorium fuel in a FFHR. Time dependent three dimensional calculations for major technical data, such as blanket energy multiplication, tritium breeding ratio, cumulative fissile fuel enrichment and burnup have been performed by using Monte Carlo Neutron-Particle Transport code MCNP5 1.4, coupled with a novel interface code MCNPAS.

The dual fluidized beds experimental set up is made of transparent perspex material.
