Eucalyptus is one of the important plant species for paper pulp, fuel wood, and timber. In this study, a hybrid Eucalyptus, U16 line, was investigated for rapid in vitro propagation. The apical and adventitious shoots served as initial explants. These were free-disease symptoms that were collected for surface sterilization.

This paper presents the first published selection of hybrid Melaleuca species which is experimented in Southern Vietnam. Among 126 inter-specific crossing Melaleuca combinations, 27 hybrids with trunk volume with bark exceeding by more than 20% in comparison with either of their best parents have been selected at the just young stage.

Ebook "Alien introgression in wheat: Cytogenetics, molecular biology, and genomics" provides an overview of the latest advancements in the field of alien introgression in wheat. The discovery and wide application of molecular genetic techniques including molecular markers, in situ hybridization, and genomics has led to a surge in interspecific and intergeneric hybridization in recent decades. The work begins with the taxonomy of cereals, especially of those species which are potential gene sources for wheat improvement.

Paphiopedilum callosum, Paphiopedilum villosum and Paphiopedilum x dalatense are endangered species and are currently listed as Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES, 2019) Appendix I species. Thus, the international trade for these naturally occurring species is forbidden.

Lolium perenne L. is the most important forage grass species in temperate regions. It is also considered as a sustainable source of biomass for energy production. However, improvement in biomass yield has been limited by comparison with other major crops. More efficient utilisation of genetic resources and improved breeding schemes are required to advance L. perenne breeding.

The Leguminosae family is the third-largest family of angiosperms, and Caesalpinioideae is its secondlargest subfamily. A great number of species (approximately 205) are found in the Caesalpinia group within this subfamily; together with these species’ phenotypic plasticity and the similarities in their morphological descriptors, make this a complex group for taxonomic and phylogenetic studies.

Hybrid breakdown has been well documented in various species. Relationships between genomic heterozygosity and traits-fitness have been extensively explored especially in the natural populations. But correlations between genomic heterozygosity and vegetative and reproductive traits in cotton interspecific populations have not been studied.

Although Tellinidae is one of the largest and most diverse families of bivalves, its taxonomy is utterly chaotic. This is mainly due to the morphological diversity and homoplasy displayed by their shells and to the scarcity of the molecular phylogenetic studies performed on them. A molecular cytogenetic analysis of four tellin shell species, Bosemprella incarnata, Macomangulus tenuis, Moerella donacina and Serratina serrata, was performed.

The most economically important Citrus species originated by natural interspecific hybridization between four ancestral taxa (Citrus reticulata, Citrus maxima, Citrus medica, and Citrus micrantha) and from limited subsequent interspecific recombination as a result of apomixis and vegetative propagation.

Distant hybridization can generate transgressive hybrid phenotypes that lead to the formation of new populations or species with increased genetic variation. In this study, we produced an experimental hybrid goldfish (EG) by distant crossing of red crucian carp (Carassius auratus) × common carp (Cyprinus carpio) followed by gynogenesis.

Acipenseriformes is a basal lineage of ray-finned fishes and comprise 27 extant species of sturgeons and paddlefishes. They are characterized by several specific genomic features as broad ploidy variation, high chromosome numbers, presence of numerous microchromosomes and propensity to interspecific hybridization.

Moths of genus Dendrolimus (Lepidoptera: Lasiocampidae) are among the major pests of coniferous forests worldwide. Taxonomy and nomenclature of this genus are not entirely established, and there are many species with a controversial taxonomic position. We present a comparative evolutionary analysis of the most economically important Dendrolimus species in Eurasia.
