Soil water in the coastal zones is more vulnerable to salinization. Soil-water vulnerability assessment is an effective tool for soil-water management. This study used the DRASTIC model, which is based on seven factors viz: Depth to soil water, recharge, soil-water bearing layer, soil media, topography, impact of root zone, and hydraulic conductivity to evaluate soil-water salinization potentiality of Ben Tre province.

This paper presents the results and assessment of the groundwater exploitation reserves in coastal areas of Ninh Thuan province. The research was based on determining the exploitation reserves of all grid cells with dimensions 500 m × 500 m distributed in fresh-salted water areas of the Holocene (qh) and Pleistocene (qp) aquifers. Each grid was assigned the corrected hydrogeological parameter values (depth, gravity coefficient, hydraulic conductivity, and drawdown level).

This study was conducted to determine the effects of different position angles in twin-jet spray applications on droplet penetration of different nozzle types. Seven different nozzle types (standard flat fan, ST; narrow flat fan, STN; multirange, LU; lowdrift potential, AD; air-induction, IDK; twin-jet air-induction, IDKT) were used and nozzles were positioned +15° along the forward direction, perpendicular to ground surface 0˚ and reverse direction of forward –15°. Spray experiments at 100 L/ha constant application volume were conducted under controlled conditions of a closed facility.

This study conducted a sensitivity analysis of physical models in RELAP5 code based on experimental data measured on the FEBA test facility. Sixteen physical models have been selected for sensitivity analysis to find the most important models that influence the calculation results. Based on two criteria, the maximum cladding temperature and the quench time, the sensitivity analysis results show that four physical models significantly impact the calculation result. Four chosen physical models are considered further in the next step of their uncertainty evaluation.

It is essential to get information on clayey layers, which may play a significant role in protecting shallow aquifers thanks to their low hydraulic conductivity from surface contamination. One of the simple geophysical instruments is EM34 which applies the electromagnetic principle to read directly and quickly the apparent electrical conductivity of the subsurface.

Drought stress is a major limiting factor of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] production around the world. Soybean plants can ameliorate this stress with improved water-saving, sustained N2 fixation during water deficits, and/or limited leaf hydraulic conductance.

Root hypoxia has detrimental effects on physiological processes and growth in most plants. The effects of hypoxia can be partly alleviated by ethylene. However, the tolerance mechanisms contributing to the ethylene-mediated hypoxia tolerance in plants remain poorly understood.

Musculoskeletal disorders can reduce the quality of life and work capacity. The study assessed handgrip strength (HGS) in relation to low back pain and arthralgia in Kurdish men. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted using data from Ravansar non-communicable diseases (RaNCD) cohort study on 2164 men aged 35–65 years. HGS was measured using a hand-held hydraulic handgrip dynamometer.

The physical properties like porosity, water holding capacity, bulk density and soil moisture content was improved with the application of FYM (Choudhary and Kumar, 2013). Due to application of tanksilt to soil, bulk density (BD) and hydraulic conductivity of soil was decreased, Water holding capacity (WHC) and soil moisture content was increased (Jeyamangalam et al., 2012).

The objective of current research work was to carry out field evaluation of sorghum harvester and also conduct the Pareto analysis of sorghum harvester to find out mechanical failure of various parts. The high workload, improper material selection of moving parts, improper clearance, maintenance and repair cause failure of component and many times equipment reliability issues were ignored. All the working components of machine required different level of maintenance throughout the life of machine.

One of the easiest and efficient way of water conservation to solve drinking water scarcity is rooftop water harvesting. To evaluate the performance of the first flush with micromesh filter system, inflow and outflow of the rooftop water samples were analysed for pH, EC, TDS, SAL and TSS parameters. In general, the PH, electrical conductivity, and TDS of the roof water samples were within the drinking water standards and the first flush with micromesh filter system was found to reduce TDS values.
