Transtensional faults are well developed in the S Block of the South Asia area, which have an important impact on the hydrocarbon accumulation. However, the transtensional fault structure is very complex. Based on drilling and seismic data interpretation results, faults are divided into three typical types in the Lower Cretaceous, which can help to understand the complex fault system. The main faults are distributed in the NNW-SSE direction and parallel arrangement with dextral strike-slip shear characteristics, which determines the development of the tectonic belt.

The catalytic tests were performed in a fixed bed tubular quartz reactor system between 450 and 550◦C. It was observed that the conversion of propane increased but hydrocarbon selectivity decreased with increasing temperature over the V2O5/MgAl2O4 catalysts. The BET surface area values and surface acidities decreased upon potassium addition for the K-V2O5/MgAl2O4 catalysts, which resulted in a drastic drop in the conversion values obtained. The propylene and total hydrocarbon selectivities increased with increasing temperature.

Phenol is a toxic hydrocarbon for nervous system, kidneys, liver, muscles and immune system. It is also mutagenic and possibly carcinogenic. Phenol containing- pollutants are dangerous and spread worldwide in the industrial effluents.The present study aimed to isolate a potent microorganism able to degrade phenol, as well as to evaluate the nutritional and environmental conditions that lead to its maximum degradation. A yeast isolated from petroleum-contaminated soil on MSM supplemented with phenol as sole carbon source, was identified by 28S rDNA sequencing.

The unstable composition and properties of pollutants, together with very high concentration of pollutants such as ammonia nitrogen, COD and especially persistent compounds such as polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), heavy metals, so leachate is the object that is very difficult to deal with. Peng–Robinson equation of state is widely used with the classical van der Waals mixing rules to predict vapor liquid equilibria for systems containing hydrocarbons and related compounds. This model requires good values of the binary interaction parameter kij. In this work, we developed a semi-empirical correlation for kij partly based on the Huron–Vidal mixing rules. We obtained values for the adjustable parameters of the developed formula for over 60 binary systems and over 10 categories of components.

The potential use of many common hydrofluorocarbons and hydrocarbons as well as new hydrofluoroolefins, i.e. R1234yf and R1234ze(E) working fluids for a combined organic Rankine cycle and vapor compression refrigeration (ORC-VCR) system activated by low-grade thermal energy is evaluated. The basic ORC operates between 80 and 40 C typical for low-grade thermal energy power plants while the basic VCR cycle operates between 5 and 40 C.

In this study, Lower Miocene and Oligocene source rocks are fair to very good source richness and essentially contain kerogen type III and a mix of type III and type II and has fair to good gas generation potential. Oligocene source rock has generated hydrocarbon since 24Ma. It is in oil window at 13Ma, and reached dry gas phase at 10Ma to the present time. The Lower Miocene source rock has generated hydrocarbon since 12Ma. It is in oil window from 5.5Ma and in gas phase in almost the entire area at the present.
