The study assessed youth’s participation in beef production activities in Osun State, Nigeria. The study was conducted in purposively selected areas of the state where beef production activities predominate. A validated interview schedule was used to elicit information from one hundred and eight youths in different abattoirs in the study area.

Bovine fertility is affected by nutritional and non nutritional factors. The non nutritional factors include micro-climate of the stable, lay-out of the stable, hygiene and genetic manipulations. The most common cause of infertility in cattle is poor nutrition (Navarre et al., 2010). Minerals have a great impact on animal's reproductive physiology. Their imbalance causes various problems leading to lowered reproductive efficiency and resultant monetary loss to the dairy industry.

Escherichia coli is responsible for a wide variety of intestinal infections, showing increasing antimicrobial resistance. Antimicrobials resistance in biofilm-forming isolates contributes to bacterial persistence which may lead major public health concern and treatment problems.
