Identify interventional gaps
-
Complex interventions with multiple components and behavior change strategies are increasingly implemented as a form of clinical decision support (CDS) using native electronic health record functionality. Objectives of this study were, therefore, to (1) identify the proportion of randomized controlled trials with CDS interventions that were complex, (2) describe common gaps in the reporting of complexity in CDS research, and (3) determine the impact of increased complexity on CDS effectiveness.

Treatment failure is a critical issue in breast cancer and identifying useful interventions that optimize current cancer therapies remains a critical unmet need. Expression and functional studies have identified connexins (Cxs), a family of gap junction proteins, as potential tumor suppressors. Studies suggest that Cx43 has a role in breast cancer cell proliferation, differentiation, and migration.

How patients recover and resume everyday life after curative hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgery with intestinal reconstruction has, to our knowledge, not previously been investigated. We wanted to explore the patient experience in order to develop our capability to support their rehabilitation and identify interventional gaps in the current post-surgical care of these patients.

As a prologue to these activities, the Research and Evaluation Division of BRAC (www.bracresearch.org) has carried out a review of the existing MNCH programmes in Bangladesh undertaken by the government, NGOs and private sectors to identify best practices and the factors behind successes and failures, thereby pinpointing gaps and challenges. This provides an evidence base to develop informed intervention components, approaches and strategies for the MNCH initiatives in the country and endow with directions for future advocacy efforts.

ctivities to promote reflection are now being incorporated into under- graduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education, and across a variety of health professions. The evidence to support and inform these curricular interventions and inno- vations remains largely theoretical. Further, the literature is dispersed across several fields, and it is unclear which approaches may have efficacy or impact. We, therefore, designed a literature review to evaluate the existing evidence about reflection and reflective practice and their utility in health professional education.
