Identity matching
-
This study sought both to support evidence-based patient identity policy development by illustrating an approach for formally evaluating operational matching methods, and also to characterize the performance of both referential and probabilistic patient matching algorithms using real-world demographic data.

Inadvertent sample swaps are a real threat to data quality in any medium to large scale omics studies. While matches between samples from the same individual can in principle be identified from a few well characterized single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), omics data types often only provide low to moderate coverage, thus requiring integration of evidence from a large number of SNPs to determine if two samples derive from the same individual or not.

Protein or nucleic acid sequences contain a multitude of associated annotations representing continuous sequence elements (CSEs). Comparing these CSEs is needed, whenever we want to match identical annotations or integrate distinctive ones.

Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) from a geno-identical matched sibling (MSD) is one of the most successful therapies in patients with non-malignant hematological disorders. This study included 273 patients with severe aplastic anemia (SAA), 152 patients with B-Thalassemia major (BTM), 31 patients with Fanconi’s anemia (FA), 20 patients with congenital immunodeficiency diseases (ID), and 13 patients with inherited metabolic disorders (IMD) allografted from a MSD. In SAA, the 8-year overall survival (OS) of the whole group patients was 74%.

Th=s report describes Paul, a computer text generation system desig~ed LO create cohesive text through the use o| lexlcal substitutions. Specihcally, Ihas system is designed Io determmistically choose between provluminahzat0on, superordinate suhstntut0on, and dehmte noun phrase reiterabon. The system identities a strength el antecedence recovery for each of the lex~cal subshtutions, and matches them against the strength el potenfml antecedence of each element m the text to select the proper substitutions for these elements. ...

Coreferencing entities across documents in a large corpus enables advanced document understanding tasks such as question answering. This paper presents a novel cross document coreference approach that leverages the profiles of entities which are constructed by using information extraction tools and reconciled by using a within-document coreference module. We propose to match the profiles by using a learned ensemble distance function comprised of a suite of similarity specialists.

This is particularly relevant because estimated differences between SRI and conventional funds may not be due to the socially responsible investing per se, but to differences between the companies that manage SRI funds and those that manage conventional funds. Finally, we improve upon the matched-pair analysis employed in several prior studies by using the matching estimator methodology of Abadie and Imbens (2006).

The airport’s newest pier, Pier D, was designed by KHRAS Architects. It is the first stage of Terminal 4, which will be extended to match traffic growth in the future. Like Piers A, B and C, Pier D, which is 200 m long and 20 m wide, was designed to fit in with the existing architecture while retaining its own identity. Pier D is the first airport pier with jatoba floors - the same attractive hard- wood is used in much of the central transit area.

With current techniques, the risk of graft rejection is 1–3%, and the risk of severe, life-threatening acute GVHD is ~15% following transplantation between HLA-identical siblings. The incidence of graft rejection and GVHD increases progressively with the use of family member donors mismatched for one, two, or three antigens. While survival following a one-antigen mismatched transplant is not markedly altered, survival following two- or three-antigen mismatched transplants is significantly reduced, and such transplants should be performed only as part of clinical trials.

Adaptation We have already learned about many different types of systems. We started with frequency selective filters and filters designed for their time-domain properties. Then we saw nonfilters that had capabilities that filters lack, such as PLLs that can lock onto desired frequency components. Next we saw how to match a filter to a prespecified signal in order to best detect that signal. We have even glimpsed higher-order signal processing systems that can differentiate between signals with identical power spectra....

This offers the possibility for perfect color match, for assembling the products inside or near the mold, and/or for controlled ejection for subsequent assembly or other post-molding operations, as explained in Section 4.1.2.2.
