In oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), the tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) staging system is a significant factor that influences prognosis and treatment decisions for OSCC patients. Unfortunately, TNM staging does not consistently predict patient prognosis and patients with identical clinicopathological characteristics may have vastly diferent survival outcomes.

We describe a method that enables the multiplex screening of a pool of many different donor cell lines. Our method accurately predicts each donor proportion from the pool without requiring the use of unique DNA barcodes as markers of donor identity.

While single-cell transcriptional profiling has greatly increased our capacity to interrogate biology, accurate cell classifcation within and between datasets is a key challenge. This is particularly so in pluripotent stem cell-derived organoids which represent a model of a developmental system.

Mammalian genomes contain millions of putative regulatory sequences, which are delineated by binding of multiple transcription factors. The degree to which spacing and orientation constraints among transcription factor binding sites contribute to the recognition and identity of regulatory sequence is an unresolved but important question that impacts our understanding of genome function and evolution.

Recent single-cell transcriptomic studies report that IDH-mutant gliomas share a common hierarchy of cellular phenotypes, independent of genetic subtype. However, the genetic differences between IDH-mutant glioma subtypes are prognostic, predictive of response to chemotherapy, and correlate with distinct tumor microenvironments.

The cDNA encoding lipase enzyme was cloned from Olea europaea var. europaea cv. Gemlik leaves using the RACE method. The full nucleotide sequence was 1546 bp long and encoded a putative protein of 412 amino acid long protein. The amino acid sequence showed identity to Triacylglycerol Lipase 1 sequences from different plants. A phylogenetic tree was constructed showing relations with various plant lipases.

A Kunitz-type trypsin inhibitor protein has been purified and characterized from seeds of Acacia nilotica L. LC-MS/MS analysis of Acacia nilotica trypsin inhibitor (AnTI) provided the N-terminal fragment of 11 amino acids which yielded 100% identity with already reported Kunitz-type trypsin inhibitor protein of Acacia confusa (AcTI) in UniProtKB database search.

The ability to predict preoperatively the identity of patients undergoing hip arthroplasty at risk of suboptimal outcomes could help implement interventions targeted at improving surgical results. The objective was to develop a preliminary prediction algorithm (PA) allowing the identification of patients at risk of unsatisfactory outcomes one to two years following hip arthroplasty.

CA_C2195 from Clostridium acetobutylicum is a protein of unknown function. Sequence analysis predicted that part of the protein contained a metallopeptidase-related domain. There are over 200 homologs of similar size in large sequence databases such as UniProt, with pairwise sequence identities in the range of ~40-60%.

Single cell RNA sequencing (scRNAseq) has provided invaluable insights into cellular heterogeneity and functional states in health and disease. During the analysis of scRNAseq data, annotating the biological identity of cell clusters is an important step before downstream analyses and it remains technically challenging.

Tomato leaf curl virus disease (ToLCVD) is one of the major causes for highest economical loss of tomato in India. In this study, Natural incidence of ToLCV disease on tomato was observed at Gujarat, India in the March, 2019. The infected plants revealed systemic viral symptoms in the form of sever leaf curling, leaf crumple with marginal yellowing, stem warped and stunted. Molecular methods were followed to further characterized coat protein (CP) gene of tomato leaf curl virus using specified primers.

Horse gram leaf samples showing yellow mosaic symptoms gave positive results with HgYMV specific primer pairs (HgYMV-CP-F/HgYMV-CP-R) and yielded amplicons of ~1000 bp whereas no PCR product was obtained from DNA extracted from healthy samples in PCR. The 1000 bp PCR products were cloned, sequenced, assembled and its length was determined as 885 bp including 111 bp pre-coat protein at 5’ end and 774 core coat protein. The length of the predicted amino acid sequence was found to be 257.

We give an analysis of ellipsis resolution in terms of a straightforward discourse copying algorithm that correctly predicts a wide range of phenomena. The treatment does not suffer from problems inherent in identity-of-relations analyses. Furthermore, in contrast to the approach of Dalrymple et al. [1991], the treatment directly encodes the intuitive distinction between full NPs and the referential elements that corefer with them through what we term role linking.

Sugar conjugation is a major pathway for the inactivation and excretion of both endogenous and exogenous compounds. We report here the molecular cloning and functional characterization of a phenol UDP-glucosyltransferase (UGT) from the silkworm, Bombyx mori, which was named BmUGT1. The complete cDNA clone is 1.6 kb, and the gene is expressed in several tissues of fifth-instar larvae, including fat body, midgut, integument, testis, silk gland and haemocytes. The predicted protein comprises 520 amino acids and has 30% overall amino-acid identity with other members of the UGT family.

The total nucleotide sequence is 3.8kb in length and contains an open reading frame for a protein of 612 amino acids. The predicted moth DAT protein (TrnDAT) has greatest amino acid sequence identity with Drosophila melanogasterDAT (73%) andCaenorhabdi-tis elegans DAT (51%). TrnDAT shares only 45% amino acid sequence identity with an octopamine transporter (TrnOAT) cloned recently from this moth. ...

This chapter presents the relational model and three relational languages. The rela- tional model (Section 3.1) is used extensively throughout the text as is the relational algebra (Section 3.2). The chapter also covers the tuple relational calculus (Section 3.6) and domain relational calculus (Section 3.7) (which is the basis of the QBE language described in Chapter 5). Classes that emphasize only SQL may omit the relational calculus languages. Our notation for the tuple relational calculus makes it easy to present the con- cept of a safe query.
