Thalassemia is a type of congenital hemoglobinopathy that falls into the category of hemolytic anemias. Extramedullary hematopoiesis is a complication of this disease, which is a mechanism to compensate for chronic anemia in these patients, and imaging is the best diagnostic method.

Congenital heart diseases rarely have a primary manifestation in adulthood. They are a rare cause of pulmonary hypertension in adults. Partial anomalous pulmonary venous return is a potentially treatable cause of pulmonary hypertension. With the current trend toward more medical imaging, we expect this diagnosis to be made more often in the future.

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is suggested as the consequence of emphysematous destruction of vascular bed and hypoxia of pulmonary microenvironment, mechanisms underpinning its pathogenesis however remain elusive.

This study was performed to analyze the clinical manifestations, imaging features, and prognosis of Takayasu’s arteritis (TA) with pulmonary arteritis (PA). Methods: In total, 51 of 815 patients with TA were diagnosed with PA at the Peking Union Medical College Hospital from 1986 to 2015. The patients’ medical records and radiographic data were retrospectively reviewed.

To investigate right ventricular morphology and function by Doppler ultrasound in post-kidney-transplant patients and to define relative correlation between them and left ventricular hypertrophy. Subjects and methods: 93 post-kidney-transplant patients were undergone clinical examinations, blood tests and echocardiography (2D, TM, Doppler) to evaluate right ventricular morphology and functions. Results: The mean age of studied patients was 38.09 ± 9.9 years. Right ventricular base dimension: 33.13 ± 4.5 mm; right ventricular middle dimension: 28.76 ± 4.
