  • The aforementioned study was conducted in Navsari and Surat districts of South Gujarat during the year 2014-2016. The primary data was collected from 100 respondents by personal interview method using structure interview schedule. After the analysis of the data, it was observed that, majority of the paddy growers (85.00 %) belonged to medium level of overall technological gap category. 75.00 per cent gap was found in adoption of recommended herbicide in transplanted field and least gap (24.00 %) was found in case of adoption of recommended variety.

  • On farm trial were conducted during Kharif, 2014 and 2015, to assess the feasibility of Direct Seeded Rice (DSR) options at farmer’s field as compared to transplanted rice (TPR) with an objective to reduce cost of cultivation and improve resource use efficiency. Total variable cost saving of 52.06 per cent was observed in direct seeded rice (DSR) as compared to manual puddled transplanted rice.   • Chhattisgarh, the 26th state of the Indian Union came into existence on November 1st, 2000. In Chhattisgarh, maize is a kharif season crop and second most important crop next to paddy in terms of both area and production. The state has got very good potential for maize but the productivity is very low due to cultivation of open pollinated varieties (OPVs) and improper input management practices. The real potential can be realized by the adoption of hybrid maize especially single cross hybrids with full package of practices.

  • Adoption, Paddy is important cereal crop of Andhra Pradesh state, particularly East and West Godavari is considered as Rice bowl of Andhra Pradesh. It is cultivated under wide range of soils and climatic conditions. It is grown in black soils as well as heavy clay loam soils. In East Godavari district total rice production area is 4.23/ha. The major varieties grown in Ramchandrapuram mandal are MTU-1010, PLU-1100. More than 70% of the Indian farming community own less than one hectare of land.
