In this paper, a rectenna based on a dual-polarized antenna, a hybrid coupler and two rectifiers is proposed. In this way, the efficiency of the rectenna is independent of the incident wave’s polarization and is improved.

Molecular dynamics simulations were conducted to investigate Ge thin film growth on Si substrates. The growth mode, surface morphology, and the layer coverage ratio of Ge atoms were investigated. The surface of the Ge thin film is not smooth, voids and vacancies are highly formed as the incident energy is lower than 0.1 eV.

Density functional theory was employed to investigate a series of phthalocyanine derivatives, discovering the limitation when the expansion of the conjugated system was employed to improve the hyper-Rayleigh scattering response coefficient. Furthermore, an unusually C∞v -type octupolar population was found by electrostatic potential analysis. In addition, the dynamic and static hyper-Rayleigh scattering responses (βHRS) were simulated using the coupled perturbed density functional theory, showing an increasing dynamic βHRS value along with an increase in incident light energy.

Fatty liver is a high incidence of perinatal disease in dairy cows caused by negative energy balance, which seriously threatens the postpartum health and milk production. It has been reported that lysine acetylation plays an important role in substance and energy metabolism.

Distal radius fractures (DRF) are often referred to as osteoporosis indicator fractures as their incidence increases from age 45. In the group of young adults, distal radius fractures normally result from high-energy trauma. Wrist fractures in young patients without adequate trauma thus raise suspicion of a pathologic fracture.

Distal radius fractures (DRFs) are the second most common fractures, after hip fractures, seen in clinical practice. The high incidence of low-energy trauma DRFs in elderly patients raises questions about the best treatment method in terms of function, pain, and quality of life.

Deuteron elastic scattering off 12C is described in the framework of three-body Faddeev-type equations. Analyzing powers are calculated using the PEST16 potential, which is a separable rank-one representation of the Paris potential. Satisfactory agreement with the experimental data is found within the PEST16 potential.

The elastic constants and various optical properties of MnIn2S4 including the dielectric constant, absorption coefficient, electron energy loss function and reflectivity were calculated as a function of incident photon energy. Those results are discussed in this study and compared with available experimental results.

Visceral obesity has a strong association with both the incidence and mortality of esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC). Alterations in mitochondrial function and energy metabolism is an emerging hallmark of cancer, however, the potential role that obesity plays in driving these alterations in EAC is currently unknown.

Laryngocarcinoma (LC), in most cases a squamous cell carcinoma, accounts for 1 ~ 5% of the incidence of all tumors. At present, laryngocarcinoma is mainly managed with the integration of surgery and radioand chemo-therapies. The current development trend of treatment is to improve the local control rate of tumor and the quality of life of patients.

The role of nutritional factors or dietary elements is much more important which comprise balancing of energy between energy expenditure and intake or other factors that contribute to prevent obesity. Obesity is a noteworthy public health issue whose incidence tends to increase continuously. Emerging scientific data over the previous decade recommends that dairy foods might be advantageous when incorporated into a moderate energy limited diet and perhaps for weight management too.

Although Egypt has already reached the water poverty limit, it possesses a high potential of brackish groundwater available from different aquifers. All Arab countries lie in the best sun-belt region in the world and Egypt has the highest number of sun hours all year round. Solar energy for groundwater desalination is an independent infinite energy resource; it has low running costs and reduces the contribution of greenhouse gases (GHG) to global warming.

The fraction of the incident radiation that is reflected from the surface is called the albedo. Albedo plays a major role in the energy balance of the earth’s surface, as it defines the rate of the absorbed portion of the incident solar radiation. Soil albedo is a complex feature, which is determined by many soil dependent and independent (environmental) characteristics. The process that results in the reflected radiation is called reflectance, whereby the energy of radiation is reradiated by the chemical constituents (e.g.

Displacement cross-sections for an advanced assessment of radiation damage rates were obtained for a number of materials using the arc-dpa model at neutron incident energies from 105 eV to 10 GeV. Evaluated data files, CEM03 and ECIS codes, and an approximate approach were applied for the calculation of recoil energy distributions in neutron induced reactions.

We identified eight radionuclides 196Au, 195Au, 194Au, 193Au, 192Au, 191Au, 190Au, 189Au formed via the multiple photoneutron reactions 197Au(γ, kn) 197−kAu with 2.5 GeV bremsstrahlung. The yields of radionuclides that decay by emitting γ-ray were measured using high purity germanium (HPGe) detector coupled to a PC-based multichannel analyzer. In order to improve the accuracy of the experimental results the necessary corrections were made.

These guidelines use sustainable urban infrastructure as the entry point for building sustainable cities. Sustainable urban infrastructure can only be built if we reconsider our strategic view of urbanization – if we rethink the future of cities. A new strategy based on more effective urban planning, strengthened local institutions and governance processes as well as enhanced economic contribution of cities is needed. Only Infrastructure that is energy and eco-effi cient, that serves the economic development of cities and supports the betterment of all citizens can be sustainable...

In all instances, interviewees were given the option of speaking for attribution or off-the-record, and almost all respondents elected to speak off-the-record. A complete listing of the more than 100 interviewees for the overall study will be included as an appendix to the final report. The selection of interviewees considered that individuals from the bench scientist through the agency staff analyst to the politically appointed decisionmaker, as well as advocates from outside the agency, would provide informative perspectives.
