Flavonoids are a diverse group of natural compounds extensively studied in various research articles. They are widely distributed in the plant kingdom and exhibit various biological activities, including antioxidant, antiinflammatory, anticancer, antiviral, and antimicrobial effects. The genus Knema Lour., which contains many species in Southeast Asia, has been traditionally used to treat various ailments. The current review aims to provide a comprehensive update on the isolation of flavonoids and other secondary metabolites from the genus Knema Lour. between 1978 and 2022.

Onosma L., the largest genus of Boraginaceae, is represented by 105 species in Turkey with an endemism rate of 52%. Phytochemical studies indicate that Boraginaceae plants mainly comprise naphthoquinones with a wide range of biological activities including anticancer, antiinflammatory, wound healing, and antioxidant effects. However, few taxa of the genus Onosma have been investigated in detail for their bioactivities.

Voltammetric behaviors of six nitro-substituted benzamides, which are potential prodrug candidates for nitroreductase-based cancer therapy, were investigated using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The electrochemical behavior of aromatic nitro (ArNO2) compounds by CV indicates that compounds involve various reduction/oxidation steps including the formation of aromatic nitro radical, nitroso, hydroxylamine, and amine groups.

Isoquercitrin is a flavonoid chemical compound that can be extracted from different plant species such as Mangifera indica (mango), Rheum nobile, Annona squamosal, Camellia sinensis (tea), and coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.). : This paper includes the result of the first study of the chemical composition, antioxidant, antiinflammatory, and antidiabetic activities of the essential oils of Glebionis coronaria (L.) Cass. ex Spach and Glebionis segetum (L.) Fourr. from Turkey. In the current study, nine and twenty-eight constituents were determined in the essential oils of aerial parts of G. coronaria (GCE) (92.1%) and G. segetum (GSE) (90.0%), respectively. The main components were capillin (65.9%) in GCE, capillene (53.4%) in GSE. The essential oil compositions were evaluated and compared with previous researches.

Chlorogenic acid is a natural antioxidant that is widespread in the plant kingdom and can be found at a high content level in green coffee beans. This secondary metabolite in green coffee beans has potent biological properties including antioxidant, antiinflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-obesity, anti-hypertension, and anticonvulsant. The term acid-peptic disorders encompasses a variety of relatively specific medical conditions in which injury by gastric acid (and activated pepsin) is thought to play an important role. Upper Respiratory Infections: Treatment Antibiotics have no role in the treatment of uncomplicated nonspecific URI. In the absence of clinical evidence of bacterial infection, treatment remains entirely symptom-based, with use of decongestants and nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs. Other therapies directed at specific symptoms are often useful, including dextromethorphan for cough and lozenges with topical anesthetic for sore throat. Clinical trials of zinc, vitamin C, echinacea, and other alternative remedies have revealed no consistent benefit for the treatment of nonspecific URI.

Introduction: Propionic acid derivative analgesic-antipyretics ( Table 2.1) are non-steroidal and antiinflammatory drugs. As one of mechanisms of their pharmacological actions, inhibition of prostaglandin biosynthesis can be mentioned.
