  • The present study was conducted in Rewari and Khol block of Rewari district Haryana, with the objective to know the socio-economic status of SHG members. The data on socioeconomic variables were collected from 90 respondents drawn from 30 SHGs. The study revealed that almost all the members were land less and found to belong to middle age group (35-46 years), married, practicing dairy as major occupation, small herd size and belonging to low income group.

  • This paper aimed at measuring the recreation benefits obtained by tourists visiting the Vembanadlake (and the wetland ecosystem) using travel cost approach. The model considers number of visit made by the individual per annum as the dependent variable is and several independent variables such as cost of travel, family income, age, family size, time spent and quality of the backwater. The analysis was carried out using trip generating function. The results reveal that, the total recreational value of Vembanad backwater was 363 billion INR.

  • This study investigated the different factors influencing the repayment of agricultural credit in Jobner branch of Rajasthan Marudhara Gramin Bank. For this purpose, purposive sampling was adopted and 50 borrowers were selected from the list of defaulter borrowers from the branch. Through the pre-tested schedules, necessary informations were collected from the defaulters as well as from the bank employees regarding actual causes behind overdues. Finally data were summarized using descriptive statistics.

  • In rural India, the percentage of women who depend on agriculture for their livelihood is as high as 84%.Apart from participation in actual cultivation; women participate in various forms of processing and marketing of agricultural produce. Women accounted for 93% of total employment in dairy production. To begin with training programmes were started to self-help groups (SHG) on labour saving equipment, processing, value addition and storage of grains followed by model processing units establishment in rural areas. Workshops and melas were also conducted for empowerment of women in SHGs.

  • The study was undertaken during 2018-2019 with an objective to find out consequence of Sujala Watershed Project on accessibility to livelihood.
