Acute, perioperative myocardial infarction (MI) from acute left internal mammary artery (LIMA) to left anterior descending (LAD) graft failure immediately following coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery is associated with significantly increased in-hospital mortality. The leading etiology of such acute graft failure is acute thrombosis, dissection, spasm, anastomosis failure or no-reflow phenomenon.

Cancer patients experience gastrointestinal and behavioral symptoms, and are at increased risk of systemic infection and inflammation. These conditions are a major source of morbidity and decreased quality of life prior to cancer treatment, but poorly defined etiologies impede successful treatment.

To reduce costs of rearing replacement heifers, researchers have focused on decreasing age at breeding and first calving. To increase returns upon initiation of lactation the focus has been on increasing mammary development prior to onset of first lactation.

Three white female rats age approximately one year were presented with history of gradually increased swelling on thoracic region on left side and right side while other rat had mass on right side of neck. On the basis of history, clinical and ultrasonographic examinations diagnosed as a tumour and treated surgically under general anaesthesia. The histopathological examinations revealed fibroedinoma of mammary gland in two rats and a fibroma. All rats were recovered well without any complications.

The knowledge base-driven pathway analysis is becoming the first choice for many investigators, in that it not only can reduce the complexity of functional analysis by grouping thousands of genes into just several hundred pathways, but also can increase the explanatory power for the experiment by identifying active pathways in different conditions.

Dietary selenium has the potential to reduce growth of mammary tumors. Increasing the Se content of cows’ milk proteins is a potentially effective means to increase Se intake in humans. We investigate the effects of selenized milk protein on human mammary tumor progression in immunodeficient BALB/c nude mice.

The applications of multiphoton microscopy for deep tissue imaging in basic and clinical research are ever increasing, supplementing confocal imaging of the surface layers of cells in tissue. However, imaging living tissue is made difficult by the light scattering properties of the tissue, and this is extraordinarily apparent in the mouse mammary gland which contains a stroma filled with fat cells surrounding the ductal epithelium.

Matrix metalloproteases and collagen are key participants in breast cancer, but their precise roles in cancer etiology and progression remain unclear. MMP13 helps regulate collagen structure and has been ascribed largely harmful roles in cancer, but some studies demonstrate that MMP13 may also protect against tumor pathology.

Humans are exposed to an array of both harmful and beneficial hormonally active compounds in the environment and through diet. Two such chemicals are Bisphenol A (BPA), a plasticizer, and genistein, a component of soy. Prepubertal exposure to BPA increased mammary carcinogenesis, while genistein suppressed cancer in a chemically-induced model of rodent mammary cancer.

Post influence of operation flood made India a leading global milk producer at the expense of decline in indigenous cattle population replaced by high milk producing exotic crossbred cattle. Recent times exotic crossbreds often suffer of mammary gland infection in compared to indigenous population results in economic loses and increased cost of production.

A four years age cow was presented to the Veterinary Clinical Complex (VCC), College of Veterinary Science, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad with the history of decreased appetite, depression, decreased milk yield and with swollen mammary gland for four days. General clinical examination revealed increased body temperature of 1040 F and palpation of udder revealed swollen udder and animal is feeling pain on touch. Milk was stripped for testing and found flakes and the colour of the milk is yellowish brown.

Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in women affecting one out of eight females throughout their lives. Autotaxin (ATX) is upregulated in breast cancer which results in increased lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) formation within the tumor.

Reactive oxygen species (ROS), including hydrogen peroxide, drive differentiation of normal fibroblasts into activated fibroblasts, which can generate high amounts of hydrogen peroxide themselves, thereby increasing oxidative stress in the microenvironment.

Lactation starts with active contraction of the myoepithelial cells surrounding the alveoli, this process is termed milk ejection, or milk let down. These myoepithelial cells contract when stimulated by oxytocin, a hormone released from the neurohypophysis of the pituitary as a result of a neuro-endocrine reflex. The afferent side of the reflex consists of sensory nerves from the mammary glands, particularly the nipples or teats. Afferent information reaches the hypothalamus, which regulates the release of oxytocin from the neurohypophysis.

The genetic markers in inflammatory responses during mastitis afford a reasonable way for improving milk production in the Egyptian buffalo breed. Among them is the interleukin 8 Receptor Gene (IL8RB) (CXCR2); a chemokine receptor gene augments the neutrophil migration during infection. To understand its role better during mastitis in Egyptian buffalos, twenty-five dairy animals representing the normal, sub-clinically, clinically and chronically affected buffalos were randomly selected from different districts.

The protective effect of early pregnancy against breast cancer can be attrib-uted to the transition from undifferentiated cells in the nulliparous to the differentiated mature cells during pregnancy. Considerable evidence sug-gests strongly that the n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) content of adipose breast tissue is inversely associated with an increased risk of breast cancer.

Breasts lose tissue and subcutaneous fat, reducing breast size and fullness. Most of the mammary glands are replaced by fat tissue so make the breast less firm. Nipple may turn in slightly. The area surrounding the nipple (the areola) becomes smaller and may nearly disappear. Lumps are common around the time of menopause. Breast cancer risk increases with age. Women should perform monthly breast self-examinations and should also talk to their health care provider about mammograms (Breast scans). Changes in the Vision Aging eyes produce fewer tears.
