Nowadays, in Vietnam as in the world, traditional building materials are increasingly scarce while industrial waste is produced more and more. In this paper, the author uses steel slag, a byproduct of steelmaking processes, for replacing crushed aggregate in base or subbase course. Steel slag-stone dust aggregate (70% steel slag and 30% stone dust) are treated with a cement content of 4%- 8%.

The main food problems in the context of realizing strong food security include increasingly scarce availability, increasingly difficult food affordability, both physically and economically. Food security are increasingly worrying because of the increasing number of problems related to food safety. From this problem, there is a tendency for the food situation, especially in international markets, which is increasingly unpredictable and increasingly unstable.

The introduction of mobile communication technologies in health care in low- and middle-income countries offers an opportunity for increased efficiencies in provision of care, improved utilization of scarce resources, reductions in workload, and increased reach of services to a larger target population. Short message service (SMS) technologies offer promise, with several large-scale SMS-based implementations already under way.

During recent decades intraregional migration has increased in Latin America. Chile became one of the main receiving countries and hosted diverse international migrant groups. Evidence have suggested a healthy migrant efect (HME) on health status, but it remains scarce, controversial and needs to be updated.

For many countries in the world, the shift from water supply management (WSM) to water demand management (WDM) plays an important role in management of water resources which was already increasingly scarce. Tradditional WSM approach has exposed many limitations such as: high costs, wastefulness, water loss, thus they put a lot of pressure on scare fresh water resources, affect the ecosystem, make increasing water demand become more passive.

Life expectancy has increased over the last century and a growing number of people is reaching age 90 years and over. However, data on nonagenarians’ health trends are scarce due to difficulties in investigating this specific population. This study aims to identify risk factors for one-year mortality in nonagenarians using data collected within the “Mugello Study”

Most older people with disabilities or illnesses continue to use long-term care (LTC) services for the rest of their lives. However, disasters can cause a discontinuation of LTC services, which usually means tragic outcomes of affected persons. In view of the recent progression of population aging and the increase in natural disasters, this study focuses on the impact of disasters on older people’s discontinuation of LTC services, and those more risk of such discontinuation than others. However, current evidence is scarce.

Older adults are more susceptible to respiratory tract infection than healthy working age adults. The increased susceptibility of older adults is thought to be interlinked with vitamin D status, nourishment, and immuno‑ logical state in general. Data are scarce whether these parameters could serve as prognostic markers.

With an increasing number of older adults in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC), the burden of multimorbidity and functional dependence is on the rise. At the same time, a higher prevalence of elder abuse is observed in these populations. There is scarce evidence on the interplay between elder abuse and multimorbidity with no reports from LMIC settings yet.

Microbiome meta-analysis and crossdisease comparison enabled by the SIAMCAT machine learning toolbox
The human microbiome is increasingly mined for diagnostic and therapeutic biomarkers using machine learning (ML). However, metagenomics-specific software is scarce, and overoptimistic evaluation and limited cross-study generalization are prevailing issues.

Guidelines for treatment of the posterior fracture fragment in trimalleolar fractures are scarce and show varying advices. Did the increasing size of the posterior fragment seem to relate to worse outcome in the past, nowadays this has changed to the amount of dislocation of the posterior fragment post-operatively.

Vertebral fractures are common osteoporotic fractures, affecting 2–46% of the population, causing morbidity and increased risk of mortality. Physical activity has beneficial effects for bone health, including increased bone mineral density and reduced hip fractures. However, evidence concerning prevention of vertebral fractures is scarce.

Conventional crop establishment methods such as puddled transplanting in rice-wheat system in the Indo-Gangetic plains (IGP) require a large amount of water and labor, both of which are increasingly becoming scarce and expensive. Efforts have been made to evaluate alternate crops establishment methods, which are more efficient in. A field experiment was conducted for two years to evaluate various crop planting methods in ricewheat system for their efficiency in labor, water and energy use and economic profitability.

Banana is a highly exhaustive crop which requires large quantities of mineral nutrients for rapid growth and development, thus it readily responds to applied nutrients. Major nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium play an important role in the vegetative and reproductive phases of crop growth, depending on the cultivar.

Despite the growing presence of menopausal women in workplaces, studies aimed at exploring the link between menopausal symptoms and job well-being are scarce. In the interest of addressing this gap, the present study aimed to explore whether menopausal symptoms might contribute to increased levels of burnout and whether this relationship can be moderated by social or personal resources.

Considering the fast decline of irrigation potential and increased demand for water from different sectors, many initiatives have been introduced to conserve the scarce water resources in India. One of the methods introduced to save water consumption in agriculture was drip method of irrigation (DMI). Several studies have assessed the technical and economic feasibility of drip irrigation in a number of crops and have proven its potential to save water and energy, and to increase crop yields.
