In this study, eleven soil samples were collected from Terai zone of West Bengal. The Azotobacter were isolated by serial dilution method from each sample in specific Azotobacter agar (Mannitol) and incubated at 28±2 °C for 48 hour than kept in refrigerator. The best strains of Azotobacter were evaluated by in-vitro and in-vivo screening. Variability among isolates of Bipolaris sorokiniana was determined based on conidial morphology. The pathogen was isolated from wheat host from different agro-climatic zones of West Bengal and grown on four different media for investigation of conidial morphology of this pathogen. In this study, we conducted a chronic toxicity assessment of di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) on the life history traits of Daphnia magna across three generations. In the first generation, the neonates (called F0 Daphnia) were raised in a control environment (C, toxin-free medium) or in a medium containing DEHP at three concentrations 5, 50, and 500 µgl-1, abbreviated as P5, P50, and P500, respectively. The offspring from the F0 control (called F1 Daphnia) were raised in toxin-free medium (denoted as C-C).

Biology and morphometrics of pigeonpea plume moth, E. atomosa (Wals.) on pigeonpea variety viz., Saket was studied during Kharif-2018 at the under laboratory condition RVSKVV, Gwalior (M.P.) at the room temperature 28±2oC and relative humidity 72±2 per cent from October to November. Eggs were laid in singly on the pods sometimes on flower buds and occasionally on leaves of 5-50 eggs. The finding was including incubation period was ranged from 2-3 days with an average of 2.60±0.16 days. Eggs were measured 0.44±0.01, 0.34±0.01 mm in length and width.

The in vitro activities of purified potato starch branching enzyme (SBE) I and II expressed in Escherichia coli were compared using several assay methods. With the starch– iodine method, it was found that SBE I was more active than SBE II on an amylose substrate, whereas SBE II was more active than SBE I on an amylopectin substrate. Both enzymes were stimulated by the presence of phosphate.
