Studies on Soil Test Crop Response based Integrated Plant Nutrition System (STCR - IPNS) were conducted adopting the Inductive cum Targeted yield model, on Alfisols of GKVK, Bengaluru, during 2008–2012 in order to develop fertilizer prescriptions through IPNS for the desired yield targets of finger millet crop.

Soil Test Crop Response studies involving Integrated Plant Nutrition System (STCR - IPNS) were conducted on a Typic Haplustalf of Tamil Nadu, Southern India for developing fertiliser prescriptions for desired yield targets of rice- rice sequence under System of Rice Intensification (SRI). By adopting the Inductive cum Targeted yield model, variations in soil fertility with reference to soil available nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) were established and test crop experiment was conducted with rice-rice sequence. The findings pertaining to rabi season is discussed in this paper.

Field experiments were conducted during 2015-16 to gauge the fertilizer requirements for hybrid rice (cv. US-382) under Integrated Plant Nutrient Supply in Alluvial soils of Jorhat district of Assam. Following Ramamoorthy’s Inductive cum targeted yield model, the nutrient requirement per quintal of grain production and contribution from soil, fertilizer and vermicompost (CVC) were evaluated for hybrid rice.

In order to refine the fertiliser prescription equation for hybrid maize on an Inceptisol (Periyenackampalayam soil series- Vertic Ustropept), a field experiment was conducted at farmer’s holding of Allapalayam village, Annur block, Coimbatore District of Tamil Nadu in Western Zone of Tamil Nadu during Rabi 2015-16. Basic parameters were calculated from the data generated from the field experiment.

Soil test crop response based fertilizer equations for Bt cotton under rainfed situation in Vertisol
Field experiments were conducted on a Typic Haplustert of Tamil Nadu by adopting the inductive cum targeted yield model developed for Bt cotton under rainfed situation. The basic parameters viz., NR, Cs, Cf and contribution of nutrients from FYM were computed from the field experimental data developed in the previous cropping season. Using these basic parameters, fertilizer prescription equations were developed under the Integrated Plant Nutrition System (IPNS) and nomograms were formulated for the desired yield target of Bt cotton for a range of soil test values.
