Single-storey industrial steel frames with cranes are considered as being vertically irregular in structural configuration and load distribution under strong earthquake excitations. In this paper, various frames with their spans of 20, 26, 32 and 38 m and locations built in Hanoi and Son La regions were designed to resist dead, roof live, crane and wind loads.

The microstructure of the LFC was also examined using the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) technique. Furthermore, the results of the present study encourage the reuse of industrial by-products in the production of sustainable construction materials and thus can be considered as a potential solution for industrial solid wastes treatment.

A major matter in any industry, especially one with complicated stakeholder relationships like the construction industry, is dispute resolution. Blockchain technology, in the form of crowdsourced arbitration, may assist project stakeholders to conclude a verdict for any conflict including an argument over delay damage responsibility. This paper aims to propose a Blockchain-based methodology to facilitate small and medium project delay resolution demands on a timely and transparent basis.

The Red River Delta (RRD) is the second largest delta in Vietnam and is a significant economic zone in the country, encompassing important cities and economic zones. Geologically, the delta consists of clay layers distributed all over its area, which strongly impact the foundation designs of the infrastructure system (e.g., highways, industrial parks, harbors).

The primary objective of this work is to study the aerodynamic pressures on Mirror Surface at Various speeds to determine the effects of aerodynamics on to Mirror vibration. Additionally, the Mirror was modified by Shrouding around the external periphery to determine the possibility of minimisation of aerodynamic pressure fluctuations and thereby vibration. The Shrouding length used for the analysis was of 24mm, 34mm and 44mm length.

This thesis deals with the finite element simulation of spot welded joint in crash analysis. Spot welding is a very common joining process in the automotive industry. It is cost effective and it provides a very fast production rate of automotive body components. Despite this advantage, spot welds are very susceptible to various types of loading conditions. Therefore they are prone to failure, if not designed properly, during their service life time. Therefore it is very important to understand the behaviour of spot welds and their failure characteristics.

This research focuses on Fibre Cement Felts (FCF), which is a non-woven textile substrate acting as a conveyor belt for the manufacturing of Fibre Cement Sheets (FCS). Fibre Cement Felts are a valued component required in the manufacturing process of Fibre Cement Sheets, used in construction for today’s building industry. Identifying the key factors that most influence FCF will assist in understanding of the relationship between fibre diameters, carded web, and mechanical bonding.

The Australian music industry is growing and developing yet specific information about the ways in which distribution systems develop is limited. In this study I examined the growth and change of the Australian music value chain. This includes the development of digital distribution systems and the effect that peer‐to‐peer technology has on system development, specifically the disintermediation between consumers and artists to the detriment of the multinational value chains.

The main objective of this research is to optimize the design of the Tunnel kiln for efficient fuel usage. To achieve that, the temperature distribution from the simulation needs be matched with the desired Tunnel kiln curve found in industry. This objective can be achieved by CFD simulation where temperature, velocity and emission distributions inside the Tunnel kiln can be obtained. Generated temperature distribution can be matched with the industrial curve and by interpreting the curve, efficient design can be suggested.

In this research the effect of ground proximity on the lift, drag and moment coefficients of inverted, two-dimensional aerofoils was investigated. The purpose of the study was to examine the effect ground proximity on aerofoils post stall, in an effort to evaluate the use of active aerodynamics to increase the performance of a race car. The aerofoils were tested at angles of attack ranging from 0° – 135°. The tests were performed at a Reynolds number of 2.16 x 105 based on chord length. Forces were calculated via the use of pressure taps along the centreline of the aerofoils.
