The broad aim of this research project is to optimize planned and emergency maintenance tasks and timings for tram tracks. Consistent with that broad aim, the following specific objectives are identified: Understand the factors affecting the degradation of tram tracks; develop a degradation prediction model for tracks as a function of the influencing factors; evaluate the time and type of maintenance required for deteriorated rail tracks.

The primary aim of this research was to further develop the sensing and estimation module of the CHMS framework with an improved multimodal inference model of MWL as needed for the application in aerospace CPHS. Here the focus of this research was on the implementation of a multimodal inference model of MWL that would be developed and experimentally tested. This was done with the purpose of studying the viability of real‐time system adaptation in aerospace systems.

Longitudinal studies are crucial for discovering causal relationships between the microbiome and human disease. We present MITRE, the Microbiome Interpretable Temporal Rule Engine, a supervised machine learning method for microbiome time-series analysis that infers human-interpretable rules linking changes in abundance of clades of microbes over time windows to binary descriptions of host status, such as the presence/absence of disease.

Predicting dynamics of host-microbial ecosystems is crucial for the rational design of bacteriotherapies. We present MDSINE, a suite of algorithms for inferring dynamical systems models from microbiome time-series data and predicting temporal behaviors. Using simulated data, we demonstrate that MDSINE significantly outperforms the existing inference method.

In this paper we introduce the Language Engine which addresses rendering of Unicode characters on a ASCII supportable editor. Unicode characters are related to Indian regional languages based on their character sets. With the application of Parse Engine, Language Engine and Rules Engine to identify the language and convert from Unicode to ASCII in the target editor to resolve rendering problem, also improvises file size reduction.

Genes are regulated by various types of regulators and most of them are still unknown or unobserved. Current gene regulatory networks (GRNs) reverse engineering methods often neglect the unknown regulators and infer regulatory relationships in a local and sub-optimal manner.

We have already defined the language and propositional formulas. To complete the formal system of propositional logic we need a set of axioms and inference rules. Why would we need a formal system? We are already able to construct well- formed formulas and decide on their truthfulness by means of a truth table. How- ever, imagine we had a set of formulas M and we know that they are true – they represent our knowledge about a certain problem.

In any gene regulatory network (GRN), the complex interactions occurring amongst transcription factors and target genes can be either instantaneous or time-delayed. However, many existing modeling approaches currently applied for inferring GRNs are unable to represent both these interactions simultaneously.

Inferring gene networks from high-throughput data constitutes an important step in the discovery of relevant regulatory relationships in organism cells. Despite the large number of available Gene Regulatory Network inference methods, the problem remains challenging: The underdetermination in the space of possible solutions requires additional constraints that incorporate a priori information on gene interactions.
