Melatonin (MT) is considered as a plant growth regulator, has extensive functions and plays a prominent role in ripening and fruit senescence. However, there has been no report regarding the influence of melatonin on biochemical changes of avocado fruit (Persea americana Mill.) during ripening.

Organic substances imparted significant effects on the growth, yield and quality parameters of tomato during the experimentation and maximum plant height of 113.87 cm at 60 DAT and 173.40 cm at 120 DAT was reported with application of RDF-N:P:K (180:100:100) kg/ha, while at highest plant height at 180 DAT was observed with application of FYM (25 t/ha) + VC (10 t/ha) + Waste Decomposer (500 l/ha).

Among the major cereals of world, rice tops both in production and consumption. The production has increased manifolds but the losses during the post-harvest needs to be checked. The quality of rice is judged from the head rice yield (HRY). This paper reviews the various studies conducted affecting the head rice yield during the last 6 decades. It gives a detailed outline of various post-harvest processes, milling treatments, factors and latest technologies used in improving quality and production of head rice.

The study indicated better plant growth, number of umbels plant-1, number of umbellate umbel-1, number of seeds umbellate1, 1000 seed weight, seed yield as well as stover yield and protein content in seeds of fennel. Drip Irrigation at 1.0 PEF (I3) recorded significantly the highest seed yield (1833 kg ha-1) and stalk yield (2867 kg ha-1) over drip irrigation at 0.6 PEF.

In this paper, Taguchi method with L16 was used to experimental research in order to present the influence of cutting parameters and feed path on the surface roughness of workpiece when machining C45 by ball nose mill. The experimental result shows the influence of above parameters on surface roughness and the value of cutting conditions and feed path to minimize the surface roughness.

The result showed that the influence of work piece material hardness on surface finish is significant for cutting speed and feed in CNC end milling operation. It is also observed that the surface roughness prediction accuracy of Adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system using triangular membership function is better than Gaussian, bell shape membership function and regression analysis. Surface roughness prediction accuracy with material hardness as input parameter is 97.61%.

Effect of wastewaters on concentration of micronutrients in dominant soils of north Karnataka, India
Water scarcity and increase wastewater generation are twin problem associated which needs to be addressed to derive benefit for agricultural production. In this context laboratory study was conducted to characterize the wastewater from four different sources (Ugar sugar-Ugar khurd, West coast paper mill-Dandeli, Nectar beverages-Dharwad, Domestic sewage water-UAS campus Dharwad) in north Karnataka and were compared with freshwater.
