An experiment has been conducted to study the effects of application of different level of organic fertiliser and inorganic fertiliser on economic of onion production as well as the fertiliser uptake by plant. From the data it was found that the 25% RDF + 75% N of poultry manure was most effective treatment in respect to economics of onion cultivation for higher net return with greater benefit cost (B: C) ratio as well as uptake of NPK.

An adequate boron amendment ensures not only ample fruit set, but guarantees optimum fruit yield with excellent quality in terms of juice content, ratio between total soluble solids and acidity, and fruit peel colour (Srivastava and Singh 2005). Very little information is available on effect of zinc and boron under agro-climatic conditions of Uttarakhand and no work so far has been done under tarai conditions with the cultivar Pant Prabhat. Therefore, it has become imperative to find out influence of zinc and boron on leaf nutrient status of guava.

A field experiment was carried out on Influence of FYM, Inorganic Fertilizers and Micronutrients on soil nutrient status and plant nutrient contents and their uptake by African marigold. The experiment was laid out in factorial randomized block design with three replications consisting three level of FYM (0, 20 and 30 t/ha), four levels of NPK (RDF @ 75, 100 and 125%) and four levels of micronutrients (Control, ZnSO4 @ 0.50%, FeSO4 @ 0.50% and ZnSO4 0.50% + FeSO4 0.50%) thus, making 48 treatment combinations.

Experiment on effect of foliar application of micronutrients (Zn, Fe, B, Mn and Cu) on mandarin orange leaf micro nutrient status was carried out during 2015-16 at lower pulney hills of Tamilnadu, India. The results showed that foliar application of micronutrient alone significantly increased the individual micronutrient content and micronutrients in combination compare to control. Therefore application of micronutrients as foliar spray reduces incidence of deficiency calamities, in turn flourishes the growth and yield attributes subsequently.

Knowledge of spatial variability in soil fertility is important for site specific nutrient management. In this study, spatial variability in properties that influence soil fertility such as soil organic carbon (OC), available N, available P2O5 and available K2O, secondary and micro nutrients in surface soils (0-30 cm depth) of 67 farmers' fields of Alanatha Cluster Villages, Kanakapura Taluk, Ramanagara District, Karnataka (India) were quantified and the respective thematic maps were prepared on the basis of ratings of nutrients.

In India, among different cultivars of robusta coffee, S.274 has become more popular due to its wide adaptability and its bold beans character. The current field experiment was conducted to know the effect of organics and INM method of nutrition, shade pattern and irrigation schedule on the leaf carbohydrate status and yield of genotype S.274. The carbohydrate economy of the plant is usually regarded as an integrated system of sources and sinks. Present experiment shows that, both organic and INM methods of nutrition had a significant effect on leaf carbohydrates and product.

Field experiment was conducted at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Nandyal during post rainy season (maghi), 2015-16 to study the response of white sorghum to irrigations and nitrogen levels. The results of the experiment revealed that the available nitrogen status was higher with the application of 180 kg N ha-1 than 150, 120 and 90 kg N ha-1 and available phosphorus and available potassium were higher with application of 90 kg N ha-1 than other nitrogen levels. In case of irrigations, no irrigation recorded higher available nutrients than two irrigations and one irrigation.

The lower productivity of pulses in India is largely due to cultivation of pulses on marginal and sub-marginal lands as main crop or after the harvest of main cereal crop with less or no fertilizer application. Such cultivation practices not only results in lowering of soil fertility and productivity also results in grains low in mineral nutrient elements, consumption of such grains may cause serious health issue in human beings.

The use of herbicides in rice may affect the soil‟s biological equilibrium and thus influences its nutrient status, health and productivity. To know about the effect of herbicides on soil microbial populations in rice, a field experiment was conducted at Palampur during kharif 2016 and 2017. Ten treatments, comprised of company released sample of pyrazosulfuron-ethyl 10% WP at 10, 15, 20 and 30 g ai/ha was compared to market sample at 10 and 15 g/ha, bispyribac- sodium at 20 and 40 g/ha, hand weeding twice and weedy check on a silty clay loam soil.

Arbuscular mycorrhizas (AM) are mutualistic associations formed between the roots of 80 per cent of terrestrial plant species. The biotrophic AM fungus receives plant carbohydrates and in return provides the plant with mineral nutrients. AM fungi influence the physicochemical properties of the soil and directly or indirectly contributes to the release of phosphate from inorganic complexes of low solubility and also improve nutrient uptake and carbon metabolism.
