Graphene aerogel (GA) was synthesized by chemical reduction of graphene oxide (GO) using ethylene diamine as a reducing agent, which was then followed by a freeze-drying process. In this work, we produced GA by hydrothermal process followed by freeze-drying. The produced adsorbent was then deployed to study the TC adsorption process.

The performance of carbon fiber (CF)ereinforced thermoplastic composites is influenced by the interfacial adhesion strength of the fiber and thermoplastic matrix. In this study, the electrophoretic coating of silane-grafted polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) particles on the CF surface was used to quantitatively control the interfacial adhesion between the CF and PPS matrix.

In this work, geometrically nonlinear behavior of sandwich composite beams reinforced by carbon nanotubes is studied, taking into account the influence of agglomeration of the carbon nanotubes (CNTs). The core of the sandwich beams is homogeneous while the two face sheets are made of CNT reinforced composite with the effective material properties being estimated by the Eshelby-Mori-Tanaka approach.

By using the Molecular Dynamics simulation (MD) method, this study aims to show the influences of cooling rates on the solidifying temperature of the water inside a single-wallcarbon-nanotube (SWCNT) under different ambient pressures. This study generally provides more insight into water behavior in the SWCNT with variations in ambient conditions.

The effect of synthesis temperature on the carbon yield and characteristics of nano composite C-CNFs
Synthesis temperature is one of important factors influencing on characteristics of carbon nanostructured materials. In this article, the authors evaluate the change of properties of nano composite C-CNFs obtained by simultaneously synthesizing and decorating NFs on the surface of the carbon felt at different temperatures.

RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) function as master regulators of gene expression. Alterations in RBP expression and function are often observed in cancer and influence critical pathways implicated in tumor initiation and growth. Identification and characterization of oncogenic RBPs and their regulatory networks provide new opportunities for targeted therapy.

This paper presents a comparative study of nanomaterial modified glassy carbon paste electrodes (GCPEs) used as bioanodes in enzymatic biofuel cells. The developed bioanode electrodes were obtained by modification of composite GCPEs with glucose oxidase (GOx) and different nanomaterials like manganese(IV) oxide nanoparticle (MnO2 np) and aluminum titanate (Al2O3–TiO2) bimetallic nanostructure. These nanostructures were utilized in a GCPEbased enzymatic bioanode construction for the first time.

Crystallinity could have a decisive influence on photocatalytic performance. In this study, the synthesis of crystalline carbon nitride (CN) was studied via an ionic melt polycondensation of urea precursor in the presence of various salt melts, which were KCl-LiCl, KCl-NaCl, and KCl-ZnCl2. While all the salt melts helped to improve the optical properties of the CN, only KCl-LiCl salt melt could form crystalline CN as evidenced by its X-ray diffraction pattern.

In the present study, we successfully prepared two different electrospun polyacrylonitrile (PAN) based-activated carbon nanofiber (ACNF) composites by incorporation of well-distributed Fe2O3 and Co3O4 nanoparticles (NPs). The influence of metal oxide on the structural, morphological, and textural properties of final composites was thoroughly investigated. The results showed that the morphological and textural properties could be easily tuned by changing the metal oxide NPs.

Graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN) has gained wide interest in many areas, such as energy and the environmental remediation as a layered polymeric semiconductor that allows the formation of catalytically active Schottky junctions due to its proper electronic band structure. Interestingly, although it is known that the precursors used in the synthesis, can influence the properties of the g-CN, no detailed study on these effects on Schottky junctions could be found in the literature.

Biochar is a carbon rich substance obtained from thermal decomposition plant biomass through the process of pyrolysis. The special characteristics of the biochar are its effectiveness in retaining most of the nutrients and maintaining them available to plants. The present field experiment was therefore conducted to investigate the effect of biochar application on nutrients concentration and uptake by soybean in acidic soils. Biochar produced from coconut shell was applied at the rates of 5, 7.5 and 10 t ha-1with two rates of recommended lime (100 and 50%).

The human population on the planet is estimated to reach 9 billion by 2050; this requires significant increase of food production to meet the demands. Intensified farming systems have been identified as a viable means to increase grain production. Crop production inputs include carbon investment in the form of energy, for the manufacture and use of farm machinery, synthetic fertilizers, crop protection chemicals such as herbicides, insecticides and fungicides, groundwater irrigation and the direct use of fuel in farm operations.
