Nutrient levels are known to influence the development of osteoarthritis (OA), presumably by modulating levels of matrix biosynthesis and degradation. These processes may be affected by ascorbic acid (AA), an antioxidant which acts as a cofactor for numerous biochemical reactions and is essential for post-translational modifications of collagen.

Potato is one of the most important and widely cultivated rabi crops of India. India ranks third in area and fourth in total potato production of the world. The increase in potato production in India has been very impressive by about 900 % during the last 50 years. Good productivity become under question due to poor moisture conservation and nutrient management practices.

The study has revealed that significantly highest number of flowers per plant (28.00), highest flower diameter (7.83 cm) and highest flower yield per hectare (25.25 q) were observed by application of nitrogen at the rate of 200 kg ha-1 in combination with potassium at the rate of 150 kg ha-1 . Non-significant changes were observed in the available organic carbon content in the soil at the end of the experiment when compared with the application of nutrients before the experimentation.

A field experiment was conducted during kharif season 2016-17 to study the effect of potassium levels on growth, yield and quality parameters of green gram. The growth and yield attributes like plant height, leaf area, number of nodules, fresh weight of nodules, total biomass production, number of pods, seed yield and dry matter yield were significantly improved by the application of potassium and micronutrient along with RDF.

A field experiment was conducted in sandy clay loam soil of S.V. Agricultural College Farm, Tirupati with three levels of nitrogen viz., 75, 100, 125 % RDN and five biofertilizers viz., Azospirillum, phosphorus solubilizing bacteria (PSB), potassium solubilizing bacteria (KSB), zinc solubilizing bacteria (ZnS) and combined application of Azospirillum + PSB + KSB + ZnS each applied @ 5 kg ha-1 in randomized block design with factorial conceptin kharif maize.

Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) is a perennial shrub and a tuberous root crop well adapted to poor soils and is relatively tolerant to drought, the crop is usually grown under marginal soil and climatic conditions and often with very limited inputs of fertilizers and pesticides. In India, cassava is cultivated in varied agro climatic and pedogenic environments. In Tamil Nadu, it is cultivated mainly for industrial uses, cassava is grown in black soils (Vertisols) and red soils (Alfisols).

Agricultural production continues to be constrained by a number of biotic and abiotic factors that can reduce crop yield quantity and quality. Potassium (K) is an essential nutrient that affects most of the physiological processes that influence plant growth. To understand the effect of potassium, a pot culture experiment was carried out with graded levels of potassium to study the influence of potassium on physiological parameters of maize in black calcareous and non-calcareous soils.

A field experiment was initiated in established Robusta coffee plantation with different levels of drip fertigation viz., 75, 100, 125 and 150% of recommended dose of fertilizers to study the influence of micro-irrigation and drip fertigation on yield and yield parameters of coffee at Central Coffee Research Institute. Results showed that drip fertigation with 125 % recommended dose of fertilizers recorded significantly higher bearing nodes per branch (24.87) and pin heads/branch (623.

The present study was undertaken to analyze the influence of graded levels of niacin supplementation (0, 200, 400 and 600ppm, respectively) by in vitro gas production technique. The non-protein nitrogen sources were replaced by 30% of total crude protein of total mixed ration. It was found that true digestibility, organic matter digestibility and microbial mass production were significantly comparable in slow release urea and uromol based total mixed ration.

The objective of this paper is to study overall scenario of the cumin at the national and international level as well as to analyze the perception of traders’ on the major factors influencing cumin prices in the spot market. India contributes about 70 per cent of world cumin production followed by Syria, Iran and other countries. India accounts for 73 per cent of the Global trade. For analysing the perception of traders regarding factors affecting prices of the Cumin twenty factors have been considered in this study.

Field experiments were conducted during 2017-18 and 2018-19 in sandy loam soils of Tirupati (AP) to evaluate the direct and residual effect of organic and inorganic sources of nutrients on soil microbial population and yield of cowpea-little millet cropping sequence. Three levels of organic manures (no organic manure, FYM @ 5 tonnes ha-1 and poultry manure @ 2 tonnes ha-1 ) and 3 phosphorus levels (0, 40 and 60 kg P2O5 ha-1 ) applied to preceding cowpea and 3 graded levels of nitrogen viz., 0, 10 and 20 kg ha-1 applied to succeeding rabi little millet.

The concept of balanced fertilization with proper method at proper time paves the way for optimum profitability of farmers. Since most of the soils in Koshi region of Bihar are sandy clay in their textural class with medium to low in N, P, K and Zn. Due to that farmers of Koshi region applying nutrients unscientifically.
