The paper "A novel approach of neural networks and USLE in smart soil erosion modeling, case study in Southern coastal of Viet Nam" adopted one of the neural networks - the Long ShortTerm Memory (LSTM) to analyze temporal variations in erosion patterns over time, aiding in understanding erosion dynamics. Furthermore, another common soil erosion model - the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) was investigated to predict annual soil loss. Our data were extracted from remotely sensed data (DEM - Digital Elevation Model and MODIS) and vector data of the study area.

Spondylolisthesis is a common degenerative spinal deformity. At the level of spondylolisthesis, the anatomy of the interlaminar space may differ from normal spine, in which case optimal angle of the needle insertion for spinal anesthesia may change. This study compared the optimal angle of needle insertion during spinal anesthesia in patients with and without lumbar spondylolisthesis using ultrasound.

Tuberculosis remains as one of the leading cause of morbidity and mortality globally. Estimated cases of around 9.6 million are affected by all forms of TB worldwide, out of which 2.2 billion are affected in India. India also has the second highest burden of MDR TB after China. Information on MDR TB is sparse in Raichur District. We undertook this study to detect MDR TB among MDR suspected cases and its common mutation using Genotype MTBDR plus. All presumptive MDR sputum samples were sent to DST LAB RIMS, Raichur from various part of Raichur district.

Vaginitis is inflammation of cervical mucosa. Women who present with vaginal symptoms often complain of an abnormal discharge and possibly other symptoms such as an offensive odour or itching. The most common cause for vaginitis are Trichomoniasis, Candida Vaginitis (Moniliasis) and Bacterial Vaginosis. Vaginal discharge may be bloodstained or otherwise. Pathologically significant vaginal discharge can be white, cream, yellow or greenish discharge.

The most common causes of death in neonatal period are infections (32%) including septicemia, meningitis, pneumonia, diarrhea and neonatal tetanus. It has also been documented that birth asphyxia contributes for 29% of deaths in neonatal period. Patients presented to department of pediatrics (NICU), were examined clinically by pediatricians and 122 cases of neonatal septicemia were identified on the basis of the signs and symptoms and were included for the study. This is followed by collection of blood for culture after obtaining informed expressed written consent.

Blood stream infections (BSIs) can lead to life-threatening sepsis and are globally associated with high morbidity and mortality. Early diagnosis plays a crucial role in managing BSI. Objective is to identify the pathogens causing blood stream infections and to know their antibiotic sensitivity pattern. This was a retrospective study of 1 year duration. A total of 1332 blood samples from clinically diagnosed cases of blood stream infections received in the microbiology laboratory were included in the study.

Pulmonary system is the most commonly involved system in people living with HIV as lungs are continuously exposed to the infection as they are rich in macrophages, dendritic cells, lymphocytes etc. In PLHIV immunity is suppressed, hence lungs are prone for infection and non infectious pulmonary diseases. According to autopsy findings, in HIV lung was affected almost upto 100% in the period of epidemic to 70% in the HAART era. Pneumonia is most common pulmonary manifestation followed by pulmonary tuberculosis and PCP.

MRI has been increasingly used for detailed visualization of the fetus in utero as well as pregnancy structures. Yet, the familiarity of radiologists and clinicians with fetal MRI is still limited. This article provides a practical approach to fetal MR imaging. Fetal MRI is an interactive scanning of the moving fetus owed to the use of fast sequences. Single-shot fast spin-echo (SSFSE) T2-weighted imaging is a standard sequence. T1-weighted sequences are primarily used to demonstrate fat, calcification and hemorrhage.

The purpose of the research initially was to assess knowledge sharing in the seven libraries within Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), in terms of common standards, guidelines and policies for patrons.
