In the light of the above mentioned scenario, a tractor drawn inter-cultivator cum sprayer for soybean and cotton was developed that could carry out simultaneously weeding and spraying operation and it was tested for its performance evaluation in fields of soybean and cotton.

Currently available rice varieties contain low percent of protein and many deficiency symptoms are predominantly seen in rice eating population are observed. To improve the efficiency of breeding for total grain protein in rice, a thorough understanding of the genetics of the trait concerned is essential. In order to address this problem we have identified promising local indica rice, (HPR14), which possesses relatively higher protein than cultivated rice. The rice protein normally posses 7-8 percent while the donor genotype identified has an average of 14.1 percent total protein.

A study was conducted at Technological Evaluation Centre, Arunachal Pradesh, India to analyse the economic performance of robusta coffee in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh for the years 2011-12 to 2013-14. The average labourers utilized for all the cultural operations were 344 man days per hectare with an average total cost of cultivation of Rs. 41,412 per ha. Of the total cost, labour wages alone accounted for 65% followed by processing cost (22%) and fertiliser cost (7%). The net returns (including income from inter crops) after deducting the total cost worked out to be Rs.

Intercrop being one of the traditional practices of crop production and there are no seed drills to both main crop and inter-crop in a single pass. To overcome this problem, the present seed cum fertilizer has to be modified to suit the requirement of the intercropping practice.

The present study initiates and analyzes the growth trends in area, production and productivity of sugarcane crop, measure the variability of sugarcane crop at the district levels in Bihar. The data obtained from secondary sources for the period of 42 years beginning from 1970-71 to 2011-12 and analyze by using simple descriptive statistics, CAGR (compound annual growth rate). Out of 38 districts of Bihar six major sugarcane growing districts have been selected on the basis of percentage area and production of sugarcane.

The study was conducted during 2018-19 in Mandya district of Karnataka State, India. The pre-tested interview schedule was used to collect the data from 120 Seasamum growers through personal interview method. The collected data was tabulated and analyzed using percentages, correlation and regression. As high as 44.17 per cent of Seasamum growers belonged to medium level adoption category, 35.00 per cent to low adoption category and 20.83 per cent belonged to high adoption category.

The present study carried out the importance of drip irrigation in sugarcane and vegetable cultivation in intercrop (onion) under the Randomized Block Design with 8 treatment and three replications. Under the study the Plot size 6m x 5 m and fertilizer doses as 250:100:150 kg NPK/ha for the sugarcane variety Co-86032. Treatment No. 6 (T6- 150 cm *120 cm) found best for number of tillers, Plant height (cm) and Nodal length (cm) 19.33, 3.88 cm and 15.00 cm respectively. The analysis of genetic diversity using D2 statistics clustered 33 selected genotypes of cultivated finger millet into ten different clusters. The cluster I had 8 genotypes and cluster II and IV had 9 genotypes each. The remaining clusters had only one genotype each. The inter cluster distance was highest (D=46.61) between cluster VII (GE4568) and cluster VIII (GE1200) and between cluster VII (GE4568) and cluster II (D=42.22). The trait days to 50 per cent flowering contributed more towards the genetic divergence of 33 selected finger millet genotypes.

The sandal spike disease is becoming serious threat to sandal cultivation in the southern states viz., Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Kerala. The high price of Sandal wood declared by the government of Karnataka and liberalization for the private cultivation of Sandal by valid license from the forestry department has encouraged the farmers to go for planting of Sandal on even very fertile soils. A number of Sandal plantations have also come up Karnataka. The disease incidence and prevalence in farmer’s sandal plantations was assessed by using complete enumeration method.
