Ebook "Proteomics and protein-protein interactions: Biology, chemistry, bioinformatics, and drug design" attempts to bridge the two extreme ends of protein science: on one end, systems proteomics, which describes, at a system level, the intricate connection network that proteins form in a cell, and on the other end, protein chemistry and biophysics, which describe the molecular properties of individual proteins and the structural and thermodynamic basis of their interactions within the network.

Ebook Advanced computer architecture and parallel processing - Hesham El-Rewini, Mostafa Abd-El-Barr
In this book, we study advanced computer architectures that utilize parallelism via multiple processing units. While parallel computing, in the form of internally linked processors, was the main form of parallelism, advances in computer networks has created a new type of parallelism in the form of networked autonomous computers. Instead of putting everything in a single box and tightly couple processors to memory, the Internet achieved a kind of parallelism by loosely connecting everything outside of the box.

In "Four levers of control in the implementation of supply chain management in government institutions" the authors intend to research the supply chain management system in the Central Jakarta Regional Tax Office using the model approach four levers of control. The application of boundary systems in the form of business conduct boundaries and strategic boundaries is quite reliable.

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) of the skin is the most common form of human cancer, with more than 90% of tumours presenting with clear genetic activation of the Hedgehog pathway. However, polygenic risk factors affecting mechanisms such as DNA repair and cell cycle checkpoints or which modulate the tumour microenvironment or host immune system play significant roles in determining whether genetic mutations culminate in BCC development.

For Supply Chain executives the first step is to clearly understand how the enterprise chooses to compete. This is important not only for the obvious reason of working together in the same direction, but also because Supply Chain has to enable the Business Strategy; it is not merely an operational department.

Ebook "Viral entry into host cells" for a virus to invade a host cell it needs to penetrate the physical barrier imposed by the plasma membrane. Viruses have evolved specialized surface proteins to meet this challenge. These proteins facilitate delivery of the viral genetic information into the host cell by either fusing the viral envelope with a host cell membrane or by forming membrane pores. Membrane fusion and pore formation critically depend on the engagement of host cell receptors and receptor choice is a key determinant of viral tropism.

Ebook "Gravity, special relativity, and the strong force: A Bohr-Einstein-de broglie model for the formation of hadrons" shows that the strong interaction forces, which keep hadrons and nuclei together, are relativistic gravitational forces exerted between very small particles in the mass range of neutrinos. First, this book considers the motion of two or three charged particles under the influence of electrostatic and gravitational forces only, which shows that bound states are formed by following the same semi-classical methodology used by Bohr to describe the H atom.

Ebook "Studying vibrational communication (Animal signals and communication, Volume 3)" explains the key ideas, questions and methods involved in studying the hidden world of vibrational communication in animals. The authors dispel the notion that this form of communication is difficult to study and show how vibrational signaling is a key to social interactions in species that live in contact with a substrate, whether it be a grassy lawn, a rippling stream or a tropical forest canopy. This ancient and widespread form of social exchange is also remarkably understudied.

In ebook "Liquid crystalline functional assemblies and their supramolecular structures" the design of new molecular architectures based on liquid crystals involves the syntheses of polymers with well-defined structures such as dendrimers and molecules with block structures. Moreover, supramolecular architectures based on liquid crystals have been intensively studied. Supramolecular liquid crystals form well-defined structures through non-covalent bonding including hydrogen bonding and ionic interactions.

The results show that the O atom, as compared to the S, Se, and Te ones acting as proton acceptors, plays a peculiar role in the C-H blue shift of stretching frequencies involving hydrogen bonds. It is found that the magnitude of red- or blue-shift of the C-H stretching frequency in the hydrogen bond is mainly determined by the C-H polarity (DPE) and gas phase basicity (PA) of the proton acceptor in the isolated isomer, besides relevant weak interactions and the geometrical structure of the formed complex.
