Interrelationship between seed yield

Soybean is economically the most important bean in the world, providing vegetable protein for millions of the people and ingredients for hundreds of chemical products. The aim of this study was to identify the superior transgressive segregants and estimate the correlation coefficient between seed yield, and yield components. Six generations of a crosses were evaluated at Botany Section Farm, College of Agriculture, Dhule (Maharashtra) during Kharif, 2019.

Forty five linseed genotypes were subjected to study the interrelationship among the traits at the Experimental Farm of the Department of Crop Improvement, CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur, during rabi 2015-2016. The genotypic and phenotypic correlation coefficient obtained between different traits was similar in direction, while in magnitude, genotypic correlation was higher than the corresponding phenotypic correlations for most of the traits.

Correlation and Path coefficient analysis were used to determine the relationship among yield and yield components done with 12 chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) genotypes. The experiment was designed in Randomized Block Design with four replication. Biological yield, number of pods per plant, seed index and harvest index had shown positive significant correlation with the seed yield per plant. The positive direct effect on seed yield was revealed by biological yield followed by seed index.

In this study interrelationship among various morphological and yield related traits was estimated in a set of 34 linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) genotypes. Genotypic and phenotypic correlation coefficients obtained between different traits was similar in direction, while in magnitude, genotypic correlation higher than the corresponding phenotypic correlations.
