The non-reducing disaccharide trehalose is biosynthesized in several species but not in vertebrates. However, trehalase, the enzyme required for its cleavage, has been observed in different mammalian organs. Even in humans, trehalase was detected in the gastrointestinal tract and the kidney. Trehalase is an intrinsic glycoprotein of the small intestine and kidney that transports trehalose and hydrolyses it to two glucose molecules. To our knowledge, no information is available about the in vivo distribution and localization of trehalase in the mammalian brain.

The T I P S T E R Text Summarization Evaluation (SUMMAC) has established definitively that automatic text summarization is very effective in relevance assessment tasks. Summaries as short as 17% of full text length sped up decisionmaking by almost a factor of 2 with no statistically significant degradation in Fscore accuracy. SUMMAC has also introduced a new intrinsic method for automated evaluation of informative summaries.

Music Recommendation Systems often recommend individual songs, as opposed to entire albums. The challenge is to generate reviews for each song, since only full album reviews are available on-line. This paper presents a framework for automatically processing information coming from community Question Answering (cQA) portals with the purpose of generating a trustful, complete, relevant and succinct summary in response to a question. We exploit the metadata intrinsically present in User Generated Content (UGC) to bias automatic multi-document summarization techniques toward high quality information. We adopt a representation of concepts alternative to n-grams and propose two concept-scoring functions based on semantic overlap.

Drawing on a large and wide-ranging literature on consumer behaviour, this report argues that psychological rather than informational differences may explain much of the variation in financial capability reported in the FSA's financial capability survey, and that people's financial behaviour may primarily depend on their intrinsic psychological attributes rather than information or skills or how they choose to deploy them.

Information -- or more precisely, better information -- can be viewed much like any other commodity in that it is costly to acquire and provides benefits to the user. The goal is to identify the kinds of situations in which improvements in data or methods are likely to yield the greatest net benefit. From an economic standpoint, information itself has little intrinsic value. Instead, information acquires value when it facilitates optimizing behavior. That is, better information can lead to changes in actions, changes that themselves create value.

The Semantic Web [22] holds out a different vision, that of information laid bare so that it can be collected, manipulated, and annotated independent of its location or presentation format- ting. While the Semantic Web promises much more effective access to information, it has faced a chicken-and-egg problem getting off the ground. Without substantial quantities of data avail- able in Semantic Web form, users cannot benefit from tools that work directly with information rather than pages, and Semantic Web-based software agents have little data to show their useful- ness.

A common argument in favor of usury laws is that without them, borrowers would be forced to pay exorbitant interest rates, or at least rates that are unreasonable in relation to the cost of supplying credit. According to economic theory, a competitive market is sufficient to prevent lenders from exercising power over pricing or earning more than a normal return. The price established in a competitive market reflects suppliers' costs of providing the given amount of that good. To be sure, removing a binding usury ceiling will result in higher interest rates.
