  • The efficacy of six different systemic fungicides and two combi-products were evaluated for inhibition of growth of pathogen at three different concentrations. Among systemic and combi-products fungicides were evaluated, the cent per cent inhibition was observed in Propiconazole 25 % EC, Tebuconazole 250 EC, Azoxystrobin 18.2 % + Difenconazole 11.4 % SC and Tebuconazole 50 % + Trifloxystrobin 25 % WG at all the concentrations.

  • Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) is one of the major legume pulse crops and it is majorly grown in India and other semi-arid regions of the world. Dry root rot of chickpea is the most destructive disease of chickpea. Therefore, in present studies fungicides (six systemic, seven non systemic and six ready mix fungicides) were tested in vitro at three different concentrations by poisoned food technique for evaluating their efficacy against M. phaseolina.

  • Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill.] is an important oilseed crop. Colletotrichum truncatum, the incitant of anthracnose/ pod blight in soybean is one of the most destructive pathogens. Eight fungicides (@ 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 and 2500ppm each), 10 botanicals@ 10% and four bioagents were evaluated in vitro against C. truncatum, using PDA as basal medium. The results revealed that all the fungicides, botanicals and bioagents tested were found fungistatic and significantly inhibited the mycelial growth of the test pathogen over untreated control.

  • To manage the disease an investigation at the Department of Plant Pathology, SHIATS-DU, Allahabad was carried out to evaluate the effect of bio-agents viz. Trichoderma viride @ 2%, Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 2%, T. harzianum @ 2%, botanical viz. neem leaf extract @ 5%, neem oil @ 5% and fungicide viz. carbendazim @ 0.2% against R. solani under invitro condition by dual culture and poisoned food technique. All the bioagents and botanical were evaluated singly. All the treatments significantly inhibited the mycelial growth of R. solani as compared to untreated check.

  • Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is the third most important crop in India that suffers from various biotic and abiotic stresses. Among the biotic stresses early blight caused by Alternaria solani [(Ell. and Mart.) Jones and Grout] is one of the most destructive diseases of tomato which leads losses up to 78 per cent. In the present study efficacy of cow by product and fungicides were evaluated against the pathogen in vitro and in vivo conditions.

  • The efficacy of seven fungicides and seven bio pesticides were evaluated invitro against isolates of A. alternata, among the different fungicides tested, the maximum inhibition was recorded by hexaconazole (0.1%) with of 97.84 per cent inhibition, followed by propiconazole (96.31%) and tebuconazole (94.45%) and the least inhibition was recorded by carbenazime with 40.94 per cent. Among different isolates the 100 per cent inhibition was recorded by many isolates against triazole fungicides and the least inhibition was recorded by isolate Aa353 on Chlorothalonil (0.2%).
